Kay, so... I don't watch much anime. I just remembered Gin from the first season stabbing people while never stopping smiling. He was creepy enough near everybody and their brother figured he killed Aizen the moment the guy turned up dead.
I stopped watching during the bount episodes, so I guess I never stuck around long enough to learn he wasn't just evil.

A real beaut. Given how simple the design is I fully intend on putting it in my story somewhere. It's not a bad weapon, just outdated. But still a reliable and effective weapon.

EDIT: just noticed the brohoof for my Fettlock pun. Glad my artwork is noticed and appreciated. Spike

Littlepip is disappointed. Chapter has been out for days (days!) and the thread hasn't even split. It only took me some eleven hours-ish total to catch up on everything! For shame.

Now... there are a lot of things to respond to....

Let’s start with some chapter impressions:
Project Horizons wrote:The spectre’s ear-stabbing shriek went on a few seconds more, then abruptly ended, as did the glow of my magic supporting it as I rose from behind the counter. The bullet-riddled ponnequin dropped to the floor before me. I peeked in at the old radio, spark battery, and beam pistol, then extracted the last and switched off the first. The feedback at the end had given me a headache. Now that the collars were off, I didn’t have to worry about some slaver ‘liquidating’ his stock as a final ‘fuck you’ to me. A tiny Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash smacked hooves in the back of my mind.

Ha ha ha ha-

Project Horizons wrote:I could still see Clover’s neck exploding in a cloud of red vapors...

Project Horizons wrote:BATTLECAKES!
Battlecakes!

A meeting of the minds and when plans collide. It is fast and confusing- just like it would be if I was listening to the meeting of the wings myself. There are four- maybe five wings? Harbinger smells of red fish, though his plans and intentions are still very worrisome.

Does Sky Striker know about the prion?

Does the Honored Councillor look like Snowflake?

Will he shout Yeah?

All burning questions.

Here we see something frightening to me. Blackjack forces herself not to think about something. Earlier, she jumps to the conclusion that Lacunae is guilty because of her. She turns out to be right, but these are callbacks to terrible habits that she tried to destroy- not thinking and assuming that she is involved.

Lacunae’s treachery is one of two ticking time bombs. Either she has done something so blatantly foul and inequine that even Blackjack could not forgive her, or she is simply Psalm and assumes her transgression cannot be forgotten.

I am waiting for Blackjack to tell Lacunae “That is exactly what Psalm would say.”
Lacunae has accepted the thing Rampage so greatly fears, despite having evidence of her past and present in personality. This silence is not absence, no more than it was when Psalm was grounded.

Along with the lightheartedness came more of a ‘gamey’ feel, more reminders of the franchise that spawned the post-apocalyptic part of these crossovers.

Would like to say that Mrs. Stick-up-the-butt is now going to be stuck with a trio of excitable children until the day they are adults. Not saying it is bad, but the girl needs some way to express the facehooves she’s going to be feeling in the future.

Choir
Why do you sing with both eyes closed?
If they were open You could see
So much deceit and Treachery
You’ve learned how to hide the Dawn but blue eyes can’t be fooled.
Can you understand the way things work when we all sing our different notes?
They’ll ask you why you keep them closed. How good are you at lying?
When you’ve taken the Morning’s mother, there’s no credit just for trying.

See, I'm planning on making something with a few runaways from the Cows. I had planned on making up a rough Moojave area, but (with your permission) something with a bit more structure would make for a good improvement. I'm not certain about setting it in the same place, though- I don't think as deeply as you do, my vision of Cobstown may end up different from yours (which is fine).
A pony town? Hm… Well, partly through luck and partly through intent, the Moojave would be located pretty far from pony settlements in Equestria. I suppose that there might be one along the coast to the north, but that's over 125km away at minimum. The nearest large pony settlement would be Fillydelphia, probably, and any pony settlement in the area that hasn't been sacked would probably be allies of Red Eye. However… Perhaps a pony settlement on land that used to be south of the border? Minimum distance maybe 90km, and probably pretty independent, due to having no land routes into Equestria that don't pass either over mountains or through the Moojave. What do you think? You can look at the area on my map to get ideas, perhaps, and remember that I've got an alpha of one of a larger area in my DA scraps (though that one you'd have to download and, to get most of the good information out of it, open it with something that can view Photoshop layers).
As soon as I have my own computer again, I’ll take a look at that map.
I don’t see the Moojave as being devoid of pony life. They seem to have gotten their hooves pretty much everywhere, and it’s hard to pass up the tension of species relations that brahmin and ponies sharing living space would present.

Maybe. Still, I wonder what he would do if given a second chance. An opportunity for a fresher start.

...how is this a book for beginners? Twilight, early in her prime, struggled with this spell. She said it was very complicated. She has an easier time teleporting and yet that doesn’t appear to be in this book.
And there’s no chance Blackjack wouldn’t mention it if it was since, not that long ago, she was fantasizing about the possibility of learning such a spell.
This is highly confusing.

Well she could do it easily enough. She could do this and that... while she’s at it, might as well include some instructions on this spell. It wasn’t too hard to do that one, either.
We never see the author, yes?
I think the book was written by her, but never got published because it was written to her standard. A book such as that would certainly be found in her study.

Now to finish the rest of these responses... mostly to Necro...

I really wanna like Dawn, despite everyone's suspicions. BJ needs mother in law interactions and there really aren't a lot of characters (physically) older than our protagonists around anymore that have a large impact or connection to them. Could be interesting to see.

I have a thing for COOL MOMs in fiction though.

Random thought, but...

We know that Red Eye is basically a mix of Ashtur and the Lone Wanderer from the Fallout games, right ?

I was wondering who was the closest approximation of Frank Horrigan (from Fallout 2) in FO:E and Ph, and pretty naturally thought about Deus.

They both where already crazy before being turned into murder machines, and being turned into a Cyborg Super-Mutant (for Frank Horrigan) or a walking engine of pain and destruction (for Deus) didn't really improve their disposition.

The only real difference I see is that Horrigan was all totally "Duty Honor Courage, Semper Fi" even in his death throes, whereas Deus was more about the "CUUUUUUUUNNNNNNT". One was a fanatical soldier and the other would be best characterized as a "Reaper", for lack of a better term.

Any thoughts on that ?

Deus was also a violent rapist. After being labeled as such by his friends and everyone else he cared about as the result of a prank he was just stupid enough to believe and just horny enough to carry through with, he might have fought the label for a while to try and regain what he once had. Once he realized that was impossible he went full self-fulfilling prophesy and started raping and brutalizing like mad, seeing all females as cunts. All the more so after he was cyberized and, as Blackjack once said, his junk became the only part of him that didn't hurt.
I personally think he saw himself as a rapist first and foremost. The brutal engine of death... he was a killer before his life went to hell, he just was that much better of one afterwards.

Frank Horrigan was never anything more than an extremely devoted soldier to an incredibly evil organization.

I got it! These are all really good... now I just need to relabel them so that the ones with similar emotions are all next to each other.
I don't even have to re-size them.
You know, the whole "LMR & LPS BBFs OMFG" review idea was seriously just a random whim, but now I feel like I gotta go through with it at least once XP

Good luck with acquiring a computer.

Hm. Well, how recent are the brahmin settlements in the area? Perhaps the ponies were there first. Not sure why it would be called the Moojave in that case, though... Maybe it's a preapocalypse name? Some historical bovine relation?

I've been thinking, and I'm particularly interested in the Moojave because, in addition to the concept itself seeming interesting, the Moojave's location in my headcanon is quite strategic: it includes the hooves-down best land route off the peninsula and has old rail lines running up to both Fillydelphia and San Frantello. While air and sea route, as well as inferior land routes, are of course available, whoever or whatever controls the area is probably going to have some bargaining power post-SR. I'm particularly interested in the possibility of opening a rail line between the NCR and the heartland of the Alliance.

Of course, that route would have to cross some dangerous territory, but it would also have to cross the Strait of Gibhalter. Train ferries could be utilized, but I've been pondering a bridge design (Like the Turris Prosperitatis, I'm headcanoning construction to have started before the war but have stopped with only the foundations built; those foundations might then have been used for seaforts, but I'm not entirely sure about that bit.). What do you (directed at the forum in general) think about a 75m clearance between the water and the bottom of the bridge structure, 7 390m-tall towers with 2km spans suspended from three cables, one rail line, three road lanes, and 4 pedestrian or miscellaneous paths?

I tried the Pony Name Generator and got Chrome Charmer. This fits because I love machines and industry.

For my real name it gives me Handsome Charmer. Whatisthisidonteven.

In other news, XCOM doesn't support Windows XP.
I found this out after buying it.

Well several others are working on a workaround. So try at your own risk I guess.

Yes, go and seduce all the machines, together with Blackjack and her flanks of steel.

I saw that, but wasn't sure what other issues it would cause, and I don't like modifying my game files. I might try it anyway, though.
I guess it is about time to "upgrade" from this dinosaur of an operating system anyway. XP seems so much simpler to me, and solving technical issues doesn't involve anything stupid like "running as administrator". It also has compatibility with older games I enjoy.

Pretty sure you can still run things in compatibility mode for Windows 7. Don't get 8. Just... don't. Unless you enjoy having a not!tablet OS. A friend of mine showed me a beta. It was messy, even for a suped up laptop he has.
