This is the place to discuss Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons, a Fallout/MLP:FiM crossover fic by Somber. Story discussion is on the left, group therapy to the right. Please try to schedule your emotional breakdowns when they don't conflict with anyone else's.

We have just a few simple rules here.

1. Don't put down Somber.
   
2. Project Horizons is a grimdark fic which deals with adult topics, so we might discuss subjects that some readers may find uncomfortable. Be mature about it.
   
3. If Somber or a member of the editing team says to end a discussion, please do so.
   
4. Spoilers abound. If you're not current on the fic, we recommend that you catch up before you read on.
   
5. Expect random discussions that may or may not have anything to do with the story.

Somber: The author of Project Horizons, creator of Blackjack, maker of awesomeness, is a small gray mare who lives in the head of a guy named David. Ignore her claims of suckage.

Well I have some news. I got the teaching job. 11th grade English in Fallon, NV. I have no idea what's going to happen with Horizons. I hope I'll be able to manage a chapter or two a month, but I just don't know. I don't want Horizons to wither on the vine or fade away. Many of you have given your time, attention, and money keeping the story going. You deserve an ending.

That's wonderful! I hope this works out for you. The fact that you're a teacher and a fanfic writer, whereas I'm a student (tenth grade in September) and a fanfic writer reminds me of how much I have yet to learn. (The most obvious difference being that I suck and you don't.) I'm willing to bet your students will benefit from your experience.

So here's what I know. Well, some of it:

Stable 99 was freakin' unpleasant. At least, to P-21 it was. Blackjack was security, then the Reapers came to break shit. Then cannibals. Everything went south, to Antarctica, or some pony equivalent. 'Cept Scotch Tape. Scotch Tape was salvageable enough. Who wouldn't take an orphaned foal with them on a suicide mission to solve the plot coupon's mysteries?

Rampage has multiple personalities and just won't die. A volatile mix, to be sure. Dies a lot, but death is pretty cheap for Rampage anyway.

Lacunae I don't know much about. Fawkes-esque, I'm assuming, considering the analogous nature of alicorns and super mutants.

Same goes for that pegasus. Glory, was it? Ah, I dunno.

Blackjack is a drinker, hero, Reaper, cyberpony, whiner, and a lot of other things. Got a boat dropped on her and her legs cut off. Thankfully, cybernetics to save the day and return her at least partially to the status quo. Oh, and she dies a lot. Ouch.

P-21 was a... utility stallion in Stable 99. He doesn't like guns or Blackjack, having used the former on the latter at least once. He didn't like his job and wasn't keen on dying, so he went with Blackjack when she left.

I probably left out a lot and some of it is probably wrong, but this is most of my information, all of it courtesy of my brother.

@Robo Yeah, I really do. I've written far too much and read far too little.

I think you got the description of Scotch mixed with P-21.

'Utility' in a sense--the Stable's experiment. Scotch was more literally utility, being involved with repairs.

If I had my tablet or was any good at animation I'd make a "previously on Project Horizons" video involving 40 quick cuts of explosions and things blowing up ending with Blackjack smacking against the wall of the Star House with the last line of the chapter.

YES! Awesome news, really awesome. :) Congratulations on getting the position! And don't worry about the story; if it takes two or three months for each chapter to get written and edited, that's a heckuva wait but I know I'm not going anywhere. (Maybe we can fill the extra time with more of those contest things, or even just little organized event-things, that one we did was fun) Anyway, congratulations again, and good luck!

Don't let your lack of skill get in the way of our enthusiasm of making you do things for our entertainment. Now get out there and drop seven thousand dollars on Maya or 3ds Max and the two years of training it takes to learn these programs.
