The baby smiled at first, but started to blubber for a second and cry.
"I think someone's hungry," Mirabelle commented with a little giggle before taking the baby in her hooves.

"Then you can stay." She kissed him softly and covered up her belly while Dinner Bell suckled. "You know, I actually missed doing this," she said awkwardly. "I didn't get to do it very much before they sold me."

"Now noone will keep you from her Miri," Charcoal said with a soft smile. "I'll make sure of it." The stallion sat next to the mother and child, just happy to be there.

"Thank you," she told him again. After a few minutes of awkward silence, she looked down. "So... um... about yesterday," she started quietly. "I know last night was fun... but I don't know if we should go much further with this."

"I'm just worried, Char." She told him. "It's not that I don't like you, I do. But you told me you regretted ever starting your last relationship. How do I know you won't feel the same way about me after a while?" She asked with a worried expression.

"I...your right. We...we should take this slow. Take more time to get used to it instead of rushing," he said softly. "I...I'll be honest...I'm scared to death that I'm going to hurt you and you'll never want to talk to me again," the stallion added, hanging his head.

"Char." She put a hoof on his shoulder. "I'm not going to leave, I don't want to be anywhere else, and I can't think of anything you could do to change that," she assured him warmly. "Maybe after a while we can try something, but for now I'm perfectly fine just hanging out like we used to." She smiled and leaned in close.

"Oh?" Mira grinned evilly. "You might just regret telling me that."
Dinner Bell stopped suckling and started to groan softly. Mirabelle lifted her from under the cover and carefully burped her before putting the filly between herself and Charcoal. The baby looked at Charcoal's metal leg and stretched to try reaching it.

The filly giggled and tried to stick the hoof in her mouth.
"You really would make a good Dad you know," Mira commented with a smile. "You're great with her."
