Dungeons & Dragon's Role Play

Arvena looked back at Arngeirr with disgust.
"You'd best be joking."

The old man stopped at the entrance.
"I don't see any reason to advance further into this cave. I'll be waiting here with Nidal."

Khaj'darrak continued following Arvena.
"I don't think he is."

"If anything happens, wake me up."
Nidal nodded off to sleep.

"Of course."

Arvena and Khaj'darrak advanced further into the cave, wandering around the various curves and turns of the one route cave. Khaj'darrak suddenly stopped at a corner and grabbed Arvena's shoulder. He put a finger to his lips telling her to be silent.
Around the corner, the sound of a grinding stone spinning on a blade bounced off the walls and could barely be heard over the crackle of the torch.
Arvena peaked around the corned and saw the man on the grinding stone. He was rather large and wore a collage of iron plate pieces and leather pads. He paddeled away at the spinning grind stone, sharpening one of his two axes, the other sitting on the table adjacent to him. A table that also happened to hold a human skull and some coins.
A bandit.

Arngeirr came up from behind theradus staring at the bandit.

"good one, but we should be more careful. There problay more of them,"

Rolling to see if Righel sees the old guy using the symbol magic.

1-2. Did not see it at all.
3-5. Saw him touch his neck and use magic, but that's it.
6. Saw that it was definitely symbol magic

Righel had hidden when he heard the door open. He kept watch on the group as they entered a cave. hah, that cave is full of bandits. Idiots. as he watched, he noticed the old man do something strange. He touched his neck and used magic to inscribe a small mark on the stone. He was too far away to see the mark. that was definitely magic, but hentouched his neck first... Almost like my symbol magic... But no, he couldn't use it. He probably had to scratch his neck or something... Righel resolved to keep an eye on the old man. He went off sways and found a fallen tree. He arranged a few branches over it so he could rest in relative safety.

Nidal thumped down on the ground of the cave, deep asleep.

Arngeirr walked over to the dead bandit and proceeded to loot it. He found 7 gold and a rusty old knife. He grabed the gold on the table too.
"you guys go ahead, I'll going to try to get some rest."

He pushed the dead body out of the chair, and sat down prolong his feet on the table.

"That was a very well placed shot. We're going to be needing that later on. I guarantee you that there are more of these buggers further in."
Arvena started to walk past the dead bandit.
"You sure you wanna just hang round here? We may need your help a bit further in."

Khaj'darrak stared as Arngeirr picked up the gold he had been eyeing since they had spotted the chamber. He silently gritted his teeth, then continued to follow Arvena further in.


The Old Man observed Nidal for a few minutes to verify if she was genuinely asleep. He then stood up and walked back into the rain and stood stone still, observing he forest. After nearly ten minutes, two people, a man and a women, garbed in a pair of matching blood red robes walked into the clearing and greeted the Old Man. They had quietly conversed for about a minute or so when the women suddenly turned over her shoulder and looked right at Righel.
"Don't think I haven't noticed you in the bushes over there. Why don't you come out here and introduce yourself."

Righel decided to fake sleep.

He got up slowly. "hmm? Sorry, I was trying to sleep." he got up and dusted himself off, carefully making sure his gloves and sleeves were covering him. His hand toyed with the hilts of his weapons.

"what do you want?" he asked nonchalantly.

Rolling to see if arngeirr hears the conversation.
1-3 hears it
4-6 stays asleep

Arngeirr was starting to drift off to sleep when he heard faint echos coming from the opening of the cave, bored he decided to go and investagte. As he neared the opening he head the old man and three others he didn't know.

*I wonder who he's talking too? I should probably be quite and see if I cab hear more*

"Oh, come on boy! Don't try and pull that shit with me. How long have you been there?"

The robed man rolled up his right sleeve, revealing a collection of odd, and evil looking tattoos.
"My Lord, would you like him removed?"
he asked eagerly.

The Old Man looked at Righel thoughtfully.
"No. Not yet anyway. I'd like to know what this one is doing around here at this time. It seems to coincidental that some random citizen is sleeping in a storm in earshot of a rather important conversation near a cave full of escaped convicts and bandits. So tell me, Who are you and what are you doing here?"

Description: Malfure always wears a full set of heavy plate. This heavy plate has strengthened his muscles to allow him to easily manuever in it. He uses a steel bow staff to fight. The staff has two alchemic circles, one at each end. By touching his staff onto the ground, he can create another circle on the ground to use any spell. He owns a philosopher's stone in the center of the bow staff.

History: Born in the same village as Nidal, he left when she was two, at the age of twelve. He encountered the same alchemist that Nidal met but a lot earlier. Spells will be explained as they come. Early on in his travels, he left the entire country and performed a massive human transmutation on a series of villages, creating a philosopher's stone for himself. Brother of Nidal.

Magic: Like Nidal's except he doesn't need to obey equivalent exchange, instead working at a two for one exchange, and the cost of energy is halved.


Malfure hit the bottom of his staff against the floor of the Warden's office, creating an already active circle on the ground. The stones shifted, revealing the oak door.
"You said you'd have information about a certain girl if I opened it up?"
The guards began to descend to the underground room.
"We did see a girl who uses magic like you do. We're actually following her. She took that path down there."
Malfure jumped down into the chamber and entered the pathway.

(Hooray evil team! Off to bed, Cya all tomorrow.)

Arngeirr looked at Nidal's sleeping form and then towards the old man and the mysterious red robed people.
*I've seen those robes before, but where?*

Being an assassin he had traveled everwhere and seen many people of diffrent cultures. As he watched, a fourth person rose out from behind a tree and joined the others.
"what are you up too old man?" he silently muttered to himself, it was an old habit formed from hours of waiting with nothing to do.

Arvena halted the group as they wandered onto a ledge that overlooked a large chamber. A fire burned in the center of the room, cooking several chunks of meat that were skewered over the top. Four bandits sat around the flame, discussing the plans to strike the next caravan coming up the near by road. They all wore leather padding reinforced with steel plates, much like the first man, but no set was exactly alike. Every single one had some sort of sharp blade strapped to their waist, and one had a bow. The chamber also held five bedrolls, a few bags and a chest. The way down to the group was directly to the groups right, where the ledge gently lowered itself down to the ground level.

"A open flame huh? I got this one."
Arvena opened her tome and started flipping through the pages until she was about half way through.
"This one will work. Denkar, give me some energy... yes the rest,"
She whispered as she touched her amulet. The amulet glowed in responce and she touched the circle on the page, which immediately glowed and dissolved. She then reached into the air and started waving her hand around, creating a gentle wind as the air itself reorganized itself into pockets of pure elements. Arvena smiled as she moved two of the pockets - one absolutely pure hydrogen, and one oxygen, down to the open flame. The resulting explosion rocked the cave as fire burst from the pocket of hydrogen, scorching the the walls and burning the bandits in mere seconds.
The amulet glowed again and subsided.
"Yea, your right. Too much hydrogen," She said as she rubbed her forehead.

"Holy shit woman, you nearly blew us all up!"
The khajiit quickly forgot the incident though, as he rushed down to the remains of the bandits to search for gold.

"I know, I know. Overkill. The probably heard that at the surface."
She laughed at the thought.

Righel scratched the back of his head, figuring he might as well tell part of the truth.

"well, I was hunting and happened across this shack in the woods. I was going to check it out when the group came out, so I decided to hide and wait. I figured I could rob a few of them." he shrugged. "but you say they're convicts? I heard some sort of battle at the prison. Maybe I could grab a few of them and turn them in for the reward."

He glared at them, eyeing their strange clothing. "unless you were planning on stopping me. What are you doing here? Odd place to meet, don't you think?"

Arngeirr heard and felt the explosion all the way at the entrance. He steadied himself against the wall and tried to remain unseen.
*what the heck? That has to be magic.*

The Old Man looked at Righel and smiled.
"We are the Red Hand. Society tends to frown upon worshiping our Lord. He goes by many names in the mortal realm, Malaphar, Sabnock and Kabandha being just a few. We, the Demonbound, call him by his true name. Valefar."

"My lord, are you sure its wise to be revealing information to this stranger before we are ready to unveil ourselves?"

"Don't worry, sister. He won't be living long enough to spread this news."
He turned to the robed man.
"Kill him."

"With pleasure!"
The robed man pulled off a glove and started touching tattoos up and down his arm, switching back and forth quickly between several small symbols. The forest around Righel reacted instantly, branches and vines whipping out after Righel at extreme speeds, some simply whipping in his direction, others attempting to grab his limbs and hold him down.

*that guy screwed, maybe I should help... Nah*

He walked over to nidal and gave her a hard poke with is boot.

"hey wake up, I think we are about to be attacked." "

Nidal slowly woke up and looked at him.
"What's going on?"

Theradus looked over the broiled remains of the bandits, finding anything that he thought would prove useful.

*Bloody flame magics. Look at this, all the armor is practicaly worthless now. At least they could have some gold or spare arrows on them.*

He picked over one of the more hefty bandits and found a small bag of gold. About 20 pieces. He also found a case of throwing knives, about 30 of them lined up in a row.

*Well, I could probably make some use out of these. Now time to find the others.*

Righel's surprise showed on his face. <I>demonbound, here?</I>. He saw the plants around him coming for him and took a few steps back. In one smooth and practiced motion, he took off both his gloves, pressed the activation symbols on the tips of his middle fingers to the symbols on his palms, and created an explosion around him. When the smoke had cleared, he was laughing in the middle of a ring of charred undergrowth.

"you call that symbol magic? That's gotta be a pretty damn weak demon sealed in you!" he drew a knife from his belt, keeping his other hand free. "now, do you wanna see how a real demonbound does it, or would you rather leave before I get serious?"

Nidal jumped up at the explosion and looked outside.
*The fuck's happening?*
She ran deeper into the cave.

The Robed Man was in shock, and started to make another move at his magic when the the Old Man stopped him.
"Brother, I believe we've had a misunderstanding with our new friend here.
The Old man looked at Righel with a new found interest.
"My, what a powerful demon you have locked up inside you. I haven't met someone outside the Red Hand with a demon's gift in a very long time. It is for this reason that I offer you to join our... unique family. The Red Hand would be over joyed to see another demonbound in the ranks."
The Robed woman rolled up a sleeve to reveal symbols similar to the Robed Man's. The Old Man whipped his hands on his shirt removing layers of dirt to reveal a hand that was coated in one large and very complex tattoo that looked almost like a scar.
"I must say though, that if you don't accept the invitation, you will have to die. I do ask you to make a quick decision though. After five thousand years of being trapped in another dimension, our lord has grown impatient and I must be getting back to him soon."

(I'm off to a flute/band nerd party. back in a two-three hours or so.)

Righel slowly lowered his knife, but the rest of his body remained tense and ready for action.

"why should I trust you?" he asked.

"hey, where are you going?" Arngeirr asked as Nidal ran away. He turned back to where the old man and robed mages where confronting the stranger.

Nidal put her hand on her heart, hearing it thump.
*I guess that wasn't his explosion, or I'd be dead...*
She sighed and sat back down. (Out of sight of the stranger and his group.)
*But whoever did it, I don't want to mess with.*

(Go ahead and kill off my character, not that i don't like RPing but i just have other stuff to do and i don't wanna hold the group back)
