Charcoal laid there on the ground, as he quietly sobbed. His body shook with every sob.

Martini bumped her flank against Cast's and whispered to him. "The south watch tower is empty."

Lotus placed a hoof over Charcoal's shoulders gently and hugged him. "It's okay," she whispered to him, even though she still wasn't sure what he was blaming himself for. "It's not your fault."

"Because you look like you could use a friend right now," the mare replied nervously. "I-I thought it might help if I was just here... you know, to show you someone appreciates you."

Opens jar and places it on table in front of Quiver. "You were the one, who gave me this, so I guess you should try it first...I mean it would be rude if I'd try it first..not to mention there wouldn't anything left in case I'd lay my hooves on what's inside." Smirks.

Quiver takes the jar in his hooves and dumps some of the jam into his mouth, and swallows it, licking his lips.
"Tastes like home."

Martini teleported into the tower and took off her armor before laying over the top of it to lift up her rear and stared at the door to wait for Cast.

"Well, not often, but we had an apple orchard. Sometimes jam was made to get some variety. I brought some with me because it kept well, and I like it."
He eats a little more, then pushes the jam across the table to Novae.

Cast Iron walks slowly up to the door of the watch tower. Part of his mind was becoming more and more turbulent the more he thought about what he was about to do, but his mind refused to yield any answers. He really needed some fun after what he's been through.

"And ponies don't get their entire village killed! Ponies don't abandon someone who...who loved them in pursuit of revenge! And then she was tortured and raped because I couldn't handle it! IT'S ALL MY FAULT SHE HAD TO GO THROUGH THAT! AND I COULDN'T EVEN GRANT HER ONE WISH! I COULDN'T END HER PAIN!" Charcoal shouted as he stood up. His left eye burned bright red in the waning light.

"Don't tell me that I'm not a monster," Charcoal added quietly, laying back down.

Martini grinned as Cast walked up to the door. "Come on in, make yourself comfortable," she offered with a little wiggle of her hips.

Lotus shrunk back from Charcoal as he shouted. "I-I didn't... I... sorry," she replied weakly and looked away from him. "I just wanted to help... after everything you've done for us, and for me." The mare stood up and trotted away, stopping just before she rounded the corner and looking back to him with sad eyes. "You aren't a monster," she told him one last time and disappeared in a purple flash.
