Mhm. If I should believe test on Canadian embassy's site - I pass (min score is 67 out of 100), but..I need pass few tests, that I need pay for and..well, according to how exchange rate my currency to dollar is jumping right now, soon enough I will be earning equal or less in month (in dollars) to what some McDonald's worker in US earns in a day (right now my salary is ~180$ and if ghryvna keeps dropping, that would be 100$ in few month).
And no, I don't need help with paying, I'll try manage this on my own. *sigh* Hopefully after all this settles..but not with my luck.

Just remember folks in your industry over here make an easy 40-50K yearly with your experience. 

Or you could make $1,500 a month, but have your housing and food provided along with a virtually guaranteed way to easily get your citizenship. Works less with software as it does with hardware.

Annoyed that I have seen the dumber of both sides, of videos that complain about nitpicking and cherrypicking while doing the same thing. Saw an Anita bashing video that played a single clip over half a dozen times claiming she is not a gamer. The argument should have been that she shouldn't be the representation of all women in games, but the video just, ugh, bashes her for not being a "true gamer".

Bots mostly for me. I usually (read::always nowadays, check my match history) play Sona to help out those trying new champs or trying a new role. If I can tell the person is a lvl30 I help out more aggressively with Ardent Censer and a Sheen. If they can't carry, I dive into AP carry immediately with Lich Bane. Ally skill usually indicated by how fast I can stack Soulstealer with them. Had a couple of ragers who complained about me "not following the meta" or "sucking at support", but hilariously those get shouted down by other team mates, while I RP Sona with "..." "XD" ":P" "D:" ":D".

As much as I would like to use that, at this point I find that turns out to be the cop out answer. Apathy to this situation would be just as bad as picking a side and bashing the other. Have to dig for truth, at least listen to arguments, if not wholeheartedly agreeing with them, and having rational discource that does not end in ad hominem. Currently (at home) watching Anita vids and discussing with sister. Admittedly I did go nitpicky myself when it came to the first three videos.

Anyone here still play LoL? I'm done with ranked, but playing with friends has been fun over the past few days. Got to do the outplays on Veigar and Zed. Over 1k AP on the former, and I got an infinity edge on the latter because fuck it. They were very entertaining games, everyone was really nice, including the enemy team. It was what LoL should always play like, y'know?

Only helpful if you saw it coming. Never even heard about this stuff before a few days after the initial ZQ event. Got messages asking what my opinion on this stuff was. Hard to see, much less get to safety when you are in the storm.

Anita has a video channel: Feminist Frequency that brings up things that she thinks are sexist in industries today. Asked for a kickstarter of $6k to make videos using video games as examples and got a lot of money in response. Released a video recently of that series, and hate from ZQ spilled back onto her. Videos are controvertial, but good luck trying to find rational discussion. Accusations exist of her stir up 4chan to hate on her during the beginning of kickstarter to play victim card (unconfirmed). Recently gotten death threats (unconfirmed).

Guess it would be fascinating if observed from a detached standpoint. Bothers me too much for me though. Do not like censorship, but doxxing is not necessary in this case. Just makes the situation worse. Can not tell where actions originate from, if they are pepetrated by the accused or if the accuser set up a false flag.

Methinks that she does make the videos, just that research takes time, even if it is cherry-picked. Game library is huge. She never guaranteed to do anything with the extra money. Did not establish stretch goals. Can do what she wants with the extra cash, should not be pressured to change her original goal. Admirable, but should not be demanded

Meant unrelated to our discussion. And whether or not she adds stretch goals my friend didn't bring up. If you say your gonna do something and accept money for it than you should be at the very least morally obligated to do what you orignally said you would.

I don't follow her at all. My friend said she fell behind and the content he said she offered didn't interest me so I didn't look into it. I'm just repeating what I heard.

Do not mind delays, but a layer of transparency would be nice. Why it is taking so long would be nice from her mouth. Thing about stretch goal discussion was that some argued that since she has gotten a lot more than she asked for, then she is obligated to spiff it out like what happened with the Brony Documentary. Will double check accusations of not releasing videos.

@SK If she had offered stretch goals I'd understand. She didn't though at least from what I'm hearing right now. But had she and they fell through because she didn't understand how much it would cost than that would be her fault. You shouldn't make promises especially when money is involved that you can't keep.

It seems pretty unreasonable to just expect more because you paid more. If people are doing that. Again I don't have any idea of what's going on.

On one hand I feel if you offer up a service or item for sale you should be legally obligated to provide it somepoint after payment.
 
The other hand says that as investors the people on kickstarter should understand they're not gauranteed anything.

On the other other hand I don't feel not understanding how much the stretchgoal or the overall goal was going to cost especially when dealing with people familiar with the work *looks at doublefine* is a legitimate excuse.

Of course there's always the unexpected. I tend to agree with SK here, as long as you're transparent then it should be fine when the unexpected comes along.
