The Elder Scrolls: Tales of the Nerevarine

Down the road, the group comes across their first view of a Vvardenfel city. You can see a rather large city of one and two story buildings separated down the middle by a river. There are several bridges crossing the river, as well as large walls around the city. The only visible gate is across the river, with a bridge leading up to it. There is a Siltstrider standing near a ramp near the gate to the town.

(Market district is on the west side of the river, along with the temple on the northern end. Commons district is on the east side of the river. You are entering near the market district.)

Ari just stared at the city for a moment then she almost guffawed at it all....such strange cities here....where's a proper hearth...and ale....so far only that matze stuff seems fun. 

Dalamus walked into Balmora looking at the buildings as he got past the gates.

Dalamus can see several assorted buildings, each having a sign designating what they sold. Many assorted ponies walk around the streets. Including guards dressed in Bonemold armor marching here and there.

A lithe zebra poked her head out from behind one of the stores and watched the group of travelers trotting into the gate. Her eyes locked on a small crust of sweetroll cream on one of the ponies' bag, and instantly her mind started racing with some way to get the precious treat inside.

Her gaze fell on a guard not too far away, and her teeth bared in a diabolical grin. The mare rubbed dirt over her face and legs before trotting over to him frantically and with false labored breath.

[Speech - 20] She panted when she reached the guard and crouched slightly in front of him. "Guard! Help! Those ponies stole my Master's meal while we were out hunting," she quickly lied and pointed over to the group of newcomers.

"What?!" The guard drew his sword and trotted over to the group, pointing it at Dalamus. "You there! You have violated the law. Hand over your stolen goods and pay the fine. Otherwise, come with me."

"What? I haven't stolen anything." He told the guard.

"Likely story. You stole that slave's meal! Hand it over along with the fine or you are going to jail, scum," the guard growled.

Ari looked at the guard dubiously but decided not to say anything just yet.

"What are you talking about? I didn't steal anything from anyone." He tried to explain. "Who's accusing me of this?"

"That doesn't matter. Hand it over or I am going to have to charge you with resisting arrest," the guard said. Other guards could be seen heading towards the group as well.

"Fine!" Dalamus hoofed over the sweet roll. "Happy now?"

The guard took the roll, then trotted off to return it to the "slave."

"Here you are. Be careful. I'm sure your master won't appreciate you getting into trouble like this."

"Of course sir, I'm so sorry," the zebra told the guard pitifully before taking the roll and trotting off with it. Before rounding a corner back behind one of the shops, she shot a smug look at the group of travelers.

"A fine example of the law. What next? Did we also steal the weapons and armor that her master gave him? How about the money in our pockets? Or the clothes on my back? Maybe I stole the knowledge in my brain," she huffed.

Ari rolled her eyes. "Ahh....so she wanted the cake eh? This is one crazy place indeed."

"I'm going to kill her." Dalamus said to the group before making his way behind the building.

"Dalamus, would you please refrain from committing real crimes until after we meet our contact?"

Once she was behind the building, the zebra sat down between two barrels and took a big bite out of the sweetroll with a satisfied grin.

"No, you're not."
Hecate said, following Dalamus.
"It's a piece of bread."

Dalamus looked at the others then back in the direction the thief went in. "Fine." He growled through his teeth. Before returning to the others. "Let's just deliver this package already."

"You all go on. I'm curious."
Hecate continued behind the shop, looking for the 'slave'.

"Time to turn in the package then, onward to whats its name, CC something??"

"Cassius Cosades." He told Ari before making his way to a guard. "Guard, where would we find Cassius Cosades?" He asked.

"Don't kill her. And please avoid confronting the guards. I'm hardly in the mood to deal with that kettle of fish."

"Cassius? He's probably over in his house, smoking skooma. He's just a harmless old stallion. Lives across the river in the northeast corner of town."

When Hecate rounded the corner, the zebra quickly shoved the rest of the roll in her mouth and stared at him for a few seconds before swallowing it roughly. "Uh... hi," she nervously said and started digging into her bag with her tail for the invisibility potion she was carrying.

Hecate cocked his head at the zebra.
"Hello... are you going to run or can we talk?"

"That depends on what you want to talk about," she told him and wrapped her tail around the potion, but didn't pull it out yet.

"Thanks."
Dalamus made his way to the northeast corner of town, found Cassius' house and knocked on the door.
