Fallout Equestria: The Kingdom

"Indeed it is." Novae put last bit of steak in her mouth and looked through window.
"Time fly by fast, when you have fun and spending time with...someone."

"I'm glad we got to do this, have this talk, I mean. It's refreshing to speak one's mind, don't you think?"
Quiver smiles.

Giggle. "Yeah my mind especially." Novae rolls her eyes and smiles. "It was nice..um...talk."

Quiver puts on a concerned look.
"Is everything alright?"

"It's..I just didn't expect either Charcoal or Octo to..suggest this. Not that I mind their suggestion..it was just..quick..but it was good in same time."
Novae's expression softens. "Thanks for asking and for caring."

"This was... quite sudden, I agree. Maybe we're moving too fast."

"Well..it was just a dinner..." Sigh. "To be honest, I don't know..."

"Well, that makes two of us. Perhaps we can talk about it tomorrow? Maybe then we can make the tough decisions..."

"That's actually good idea, Quiver. I'll just go then." Begins to trot away, then remembers something and comes back to Quiver. "Thanks for your time, I've enjoyed it." Novae kisses Quiver on the nose, then giggles and trots away to her room.

Quiver blushes as Novae kisses him.
"Good night, Novae."
Quiver sits in the solace of his thoughts for a few minutes before paying for a room and going to bed.

Charcoal sat silently on the Cliff overlooking the ruins of the mill. His face was battered and bruised, and his rifle lay beside him. He couldn't remember why he was there, but all he could think about was the emptiness inside him and the pain. Charcoal reached out and detached the bayonet, holding it in his hooves his mind lingering on the fact that it could all just end if he wanted it to. The grey stallion slowly lifted the blade and held it so that the point was facing his jugular.

"So you can end your own suffering, but not mine?" a voice asked from behind him.

Charcoal turned around to see Spare Change standing there, a frown upon her muzzle. "Change...I...its not what-"

"It's not what? It isn't what it looks like?" the green earth pony mare asked him angrily. "You weren't about to end your own life when you couldn't even end mine?"

"I...I," Charcoal struggled for the words.

"And what about her?" Change asked pointing a hoof at the figure of Clockwork, who had just appeared.

"I...I bear my heart to you and...and you do this?" Clock asked angrily, tears streaming down her eyes. "I...I thought you loved me?"

"I d-"

"Isn't this what you do to everyone you love? You hurt them however you can. You gain their trust then betray them," Change spat.

"I didn't...I don't-"

"You don't..you don't love me?" Clock asked with a chocked sob.

"Hey there, don't feel bad Clock," Change said with a soothing voice. "He didn't love me either. He could have ended my suffering too, but he didn't," she said, glaring at the grey stallion.

"I...but...I," Charcoal stammered, tears streaming down his eyes.

"See? He only cares about himself," the green mare whispered to Clock. "You should leave him before it is too late."

"I...I should," Clock replied, her sobbing coming to an end. "He...he is...he's a monster."

Charcoal hung his head, looking down at his hooves. Tears streamed through his eyes as he saw them covered with and even expanding pool of blood.

"And you know what we do to monsters?" Spare Change whispered to Clock.

"WE KILL THEM."


Charcoal woke with a start, sweat matting his coat and his heart racing. He looked over at Clock, who was snoring lightly, splayed across half of the bed. The dark grey stallion got up slowly from the bed and moved over to the chair in the corner of the room, where he curled up, crying softly to himself.

Novae enters her room. There are two beds, one under window, where Jayne was sitting, checking his weapons. On the floor near him was his disassembled pistol and some stuff for clearing guns and help maintaining them.
"Heya, how are you?"

"Bored..on other hand it's good, that we have some free time."

"I hear ya." Novae walked to her bed, pulled blanket from it and stuffed it under bed. "Had a good time today."

Jayne looked over shoulder at Novae. Sigh. "Do you have to do this? I mean..I'm here and it was how many years.."

Sigh. "I know..it's just..." Novae ducked under the bed and squared blanket. "..I feel uncomfortable..call it my odd habit." Novae took pillow from bed and crawled under it. "I had really good diner today. In good company."

"Oh, so I'm bad company for you now?" Jayne said with a smile.

"You know, that you're best person I know." Yawns.

"You just want to make me blush."

Giggle. Half-sleeping. "Maybe..still..I had good date today..."

"That's good ,that you had fun on your da----" Jayne dropped almost filled clip on the floor. "You was on date? With whom?"

Quietly snores.

Jayne assembles his pistol back, finish loading clip and then put it back in pistol with a click.
Even few hours later he still could hardly sleep, thinking about with whom Novae could've been on date...and what he will do about it, until he finally drifted away to sleep.

Quiver wakes up and deposits his room key. He cheerfully trots over to Plot Armor, and walks in.
"Hey, can I pick up my armor now?"

"Thanks."
Quiver takes the armor and leaves, taking it behind the tavern and washing it with the remaining soapy water. He puts the armor on, noting the increased bulk and weight, and takes his seat at the tavern.
