I thought rolling was an indication of requirement
1-5 is fail 6-10 is success?

Not here. That was just Fiddler's Hoof. Old Appleloosa is better guarded and fortified, and they've only got the 1 gate, so they leave it open unless they are directly under attack.

Nope. 1-2 is always a critical failure. 3-5 is little failure. 6-8 is success. 9-10 is great success. There is no deviation, it is always like this.

why woul you do that, why not just say agility I have a 5 if I roll less thn five i've got it, if i roll above five I don't got it...

or intelligence 7 if I roll a 7 or less i got it, if I roll 8 or more I lose
