I was Told to Make a Thing Here

Howdy, I guess.
First off, the name. It was a tax revolt in the early days of the US that Washington smashed with his iron boot of freedom. I find history and politics interesting, and I discovered this place by way of Project Horizons, so I thought it would be a fitting name.
About me, I guess. I am a Cuban-American that grew up in the boondocks of Georgia. I stand by the ideals of Southern Hospitality and Latin Tough-headedness. I have the tact of a fundamentalist Mormon on speed, so if I come off a bit mean, I most likely mean nothing by it. Most importantly, I am not racist, do not partake in any narcotic, and do not engage in sexual relations with my kin. Please don't imply that, the jokes got old two minutes after I spoke to my first New Yorker.
Nice to be here, and I hope to actually bring valid input to any conversations I get into.

That's actually a very common occurrence in in Hispanic families. There are actually a few conflicting definitions.
There's the one I gave, which is correct.
Then there's those who say a moment is 1.5 seconds.
And then there's the nutjobs with this timescale:
