Seven Days Server

I'm going to be setting up and running a 7 days to Die server (8PM EST)

For those of you who don't know what Seven Days to Die it's Not another Zombie game except this one is focused on survival.  You must eat and drink, you have to build your shelter and it's voxel based so zombies can literally tear the walls down around you.  You'll see zombie dogs, armored zombies, thirty plus strong zombie hordes and the ability to craft most anything you want to.  At night zombies are fast zombies, during the day they are slow.  Sound matters as guns kill quickly but can attract more but so can running in there and bashing heads.

I love the game so far and I'm running the server because the game is 10x better with friends to watch your back and help you build you end of the world bunker.  This is not Day Z where zombies are an annoynence, or Minecraft where 3 blocks defends you forever.  The zombies hate your guts and keep on coming in bigger and bigger hordes.

I'm having tons of fun, the server is going back on at 8pm not sure if it's going to be 24/7 or a night time thing yet.

Fun game, but sheesh, are dogs OP early game.
Is there a weight carry limit?
Players are stupid. They victory spike the glass jars after drinking water. GG life.
Also, audio needs work. Can't tell if zeds detect me or not, and how far away they are. What sounds like them next to me is usually them about 15m away.

Just for those who are new I'm running the server 24/7 at this point but the later days get harder with more zombies so I might move us back to Day X from time to time. It's not a minecraft server to have running for six months solid.

OAN we have moved into the big cabin up north (The one with a parking lot)
We have a cave to play mole people in, I've repaired about 40% of the building back and we have a snow fort on the roof. We also have a nice trench and the start of a stone wall.

I got a little bit more digging done, we might be out of tnt but now we have a decent ditch. AND an auger since since loot re spawns every 7 days and days are 45 minutes long... every 5 hours.
Might move that up to 30 days (22.5 hours) to compensate.

Yesterday was good day. Got back to my corpse, then to the 'bad idea' safehouse. Started mining, now to make place self-sustainable with underground farms. Have many berries. Have dirt. Need bucket for water. Need to mine space.

A few things I've learned, the Auger makes mining faster but still not Minecraft fast and it takes 60 seconds to dig a decent trench.  No two minutes to bedrock stuff here. It takes about twenty minutes to make 10 cans of gasoline and about 5 minutes to use it all up. No seriously Each can is like thirty seconds of mining.

Zombies somehow got into the group's house. I joined the server, spawned in the safehouse, immediately got sensed, and then died. Zombies are swarming the place.

A swarm has probably moved in, they will move off/die off after awhile, or can lead them out. I think it might be time for us to either reset to a new world or move. I was planning to reset when .8 hits but that's a week away anyway.

The snow fort has not been fun.

For those that don't know we have moved to Cornado road the crossroads between it and the road running south. Look for the giant hole in the ground, the hordes of zombies and the rubble buildings as we've taken the time to level the nearby zombie spawners.

Okay, there's 1000 rounds of 9mm, 629 rounds of 7.62, and over 300 shotgun shells. The safe has been organized and consolidated. The parts of the moat's inside walls where the zombies had been digging through have been patched with stone. We also have dozens upon dozens of stacks of tea, and a good bit of grilled venison, courtesy of SK. Thinking of setting up an outpost on the intersection of Arrowhead and Coronado for future raids into the nearby city.

I'm busy making more booze, twenty stacks of corn meal plus +20 takes 100 minutes so each can of gasoline takes roughly 20 ingame minutes to make and 60 seconds to use.

7 days to die server has been region reset. This means anywhere we are not currently building has been reset to default meaning all the loot that was looted is now unlooted. Now I know how I can do this every few days since the respawn loot thing is bugged.

Yes and now we have lots of gasoline and explosives and a bucket full of fire arms with more lead than we know what to do with.

Letting you know that the zombies have managed to claw through the foundation and have been doing their damndest to destroy everything under our current abode. I went for a run around the entire map, looking around, seeing the sights, get back at sunset, only to hear clawing from beneath me. The area they managed to dig out counts as a dark area for them too.

At the moment, torches do not slow zeds down, only campfires, forgefires, and sunlight.
Also, the new patch should be coming out sooner or later.

There is a lot of fucked up trying to building the base I wish I can undo, and the patch is due out this weekend.

Server went down last night due to the dread enemy known as windows updates. It's back up. Also Bunker MK VI is almost.... finished being... started...

Building farms. All the farms. Tree farm is up, and experimental farm #2 is semifunctional. Farming food is still buggy, as the plants decide half the time they don't want to stay planted and uproot themselves. Dirt sometimes randomly untills itself. Food supplies are good, but I might want to do another marigold tea run.

Server will be reset at 7pm EST tonight

We finally got the 8.7 server manager I know how to use updating to 8.7.  We will be using playing on 8.7 until 8.8 comes out in six weeks which will feature random terrain generation.
