Shayle stayed still for a long while, her eyes clamped shut. She wasn't crying anymore, that had long passed, replaced by a feeling of shame and self-loathing. She had kept her and her brother alive, but she was starting to doubt it was the right thing. It was either that or dying... she told herself again and again, trying to keep herself at least a little convinced that she had done the lesser of two evils.

She opened an eye and spun it to face Felix. The colt was cuddled into Neon, sobbing still, but with a small...smile? She couldn't even imagine smiling at that moment, so how did her brother manage to?

Her question was answered when her brother pecked Neon on the cheek, nuzzling into him. Even after everything that had happened back there, after almost dying, the colt could still manage to smile so soon because he loved someone? Were relationships really that powerful?

Shayle looked down to her chest where the necklace of scrap flowers hung, glinting when they caught any light. Is...is that why I can't seem to be happy? She frowned at the thought, thinking back to every time she pushed someone away if they seemed like they were getting too close. Her thoughts shifted to the others from New Hope who had someone. They all seemed so happy, and even in hard times, they pulled each other through it. But Shayle...she just held it all in until it exploded, usually at the expense of others. The image of a bleeding farmer filled her mind.

She looked over to Buckler, then back to the necklace. Would he ever even consider...after everything I've done to him...

Slowly, the mare stood up and nervously walked over to the resting pony, her ears plastered on the back of her head as she approached him. "Um...B-buckler?"

*Raises an eyebrow*
Right now? No. I have to find where the culprits went, figure out who they are, scout their base, etc. Then I can figure out a better plan.

((The princess said if they wanted anything all they had to do was ask the minister. The whole reason Major is in Japony is to collect Japonese armor and weapons. When he hear the princess say that he figured he could finish his job in one fell swoop by asking for them.))

((He doesn't need a lot, maybe one of each kind of gun and some ammo. Also a set of armor or two. The whole plan was to get samples so Absolutely Everything can start manufacturing their own. (I'm assuming that A.E. has become much larger since the end of FoE.)))

"I was told to get one of each variant. And some ammo. I'd also appreciate a set of armor if you can spare it."

Shayle nodded and scratched the back of her leg. "Yeah...they're nice..." she said softly, slowly losing the motivation to go through with what she planned to say. "So...um...I...I thinking...and...you..." the zebra lost all control of her tongue, not even sure what she was supposed to say to a stallion in this situation. Was she even supposed to be the one bringing it up? How did Felix and Neon get together? Should she have asked someone first?

*Shakes his head* We can spare the ammo and a set of armor, but only one gun. We will need every guard and soldier we can get to defend our home.

"I understand. Would it be possible for me to get some pictures of the inner workings of some of the others? I'm sure your guards strip them down and clean them regularly, I'll get some pictures while they do so."
