It looks like it has the same gun selection as the AMX ELC, but is even faster (105 KpH on road).

Although it is roughly two times as massive as the ELC, weighing 13 metric tons, with only 200 HP, and has probably as much armor as a wet paperbag, I could see it as a fun premium tier 5 scout/backstabbing-implement, equipped with the 90mm hategun.

Wow, I must say that Polish Tank looks very futuristic, jet black and smooth, and just get an eyeful of that cannon! It's good that they're paying attention towards stealth or counter-measures over copious amounts of armor since with the strength of the world's weapons today, there's hardly a substance or design on the planet that can feasibly withstand fire from many of the world's top end anti-armor missiles and tank rounds for any real length of time.

It would seem to be more feasible today to prevent getting hit in the first place attempting to weather the blow, to me anyway.

Perhaps one day in the far flung future we will develop a type of energy shielding for our vehicles that's actually reasonable over the impractical-at-best prototypes we have today, that being said, I've always been a fan of armor and damage mitigation, not because I'm pacifist, but because there's hardly a feeling more satisfying than simply wading through your enemy's fire, showing them that it's not that you can't dodge or prevent their attacks, but that you simply don't care. It can be the ultimate show of dominance, even more so than simply destroying your enemies.


By the way, in my travels tonight I found a website containing some interesting tank concepts from the past that, while some are not entirely realistic, might provide some good food-for-thought, or at least hope so anyway, sorry if you've seen these already. http://www.twilighthistories.com/2012/08/17/top-20-weird-tanks-alternate-history-of-design/


Also, in the same line of thinking about tanks, I've always been interested in Trains. Now before you question my sanity bringing up Trains here, I came across some “Armoured Trains” that some countries namely the Germans and Soviets had during the WW2 era. Pictures of which can be found here
