Charcoal deadpanned. He shook off his shock a moment later. "I hope that wasn't' a question, because you should already know my answer."

With a loud squawk, Scorch swooped down and landed next to Charcoal. He cocked his head to the side and chirped at the stallion.

"No Scorch, she is an old friend of mine. Mira, this is Scorch."

"Squawk." Scorch bowed to the mare and then offered her his talon to shake.

Cherry looks up at Shadow"Shadow, 'bout Fl-"

He looks at her holding up tendril"Ya don't gotta ask, we'll take care of her, just like we promised."

"Thanks..."

"Don't mention it. Just sleep, we'll get her back and ah'll make sure she stays safe this time."

Cherry nods again and lays next to him, slowly closing her eyes.

He strokes her mane. Sorry, Tumble, should of at least tried to do somethin'...He looks down at Cherry Don't worry though, ah won't fail Flower. Ah'll keep her safe, just like ya were. Cherry and ah will keep her safe.

Cherry falls asleep.

Ah hatred, how wonderful it tastes! Almost as good as sadness and misery

"Go away."

Oh no Shadow, you're stuck with us. Remember?

"Just, please, go away."

No, I think I'll just stay for a while.

"Yer a bastard ya know that?"

I know, and how I enjoy being one.

Shadow sighs trying to ignore the voice in his head.
