FO:E RP Season 2: "Electric Scootaloo"

“Long ago, in the land of Snowflake, there was a tale of the great sword of Flake. Only the strongest of heroes were allowed to carry this sword, and for years it was protected by a great ghost to test those who wished to carry it. Many have tried, but only few have ever succeeded in finding the sword, and since then its location has been a mystery.

“But now, three brave heroes have begun their journey to find this sword, and use it to protect their home from any evil that may seek to harm them.”

Riptide stood proudly atop his stoop, looking down on the three little heroes with a proud stance. On his head rested a yellow and red crown of paper and plastic jewels hastily glued in place, and a sheet was tied over his back with a large snowflake painted on the back. He was the king of Castle Snowflake, the wondrous winter land of olden times, and the bearer of the legend of the sword.

“So where’s the sword? Do you know?” Red Lightning asked from the bottom step, eagerly bobbing up and down. A wooden sword was slung over his back with a string he found in his basement, something that had taken his own father days to make for this day.

“All in time, Rolaf the Red,” Riptide replied, waving his hoof dramatically. “First, you must do something for me. Then I will tell you the location of the sword!”

“Aww,” a yellow filly sighed beside Red, her fake helmet falling over her eyes briefly. Lemon Bar quickly lifted the cardboard helmet back up, and looked between her friends to be sure neither of them saw what happened.

“What do we need to do?” the final hero asked from beneath her bed sheet cloak.

“You must find me the…Stone of Snowflake, young ice witch,” the king replied quickly.

“Dad! I’m not a witch,” Ice Crystal pouted, sitting down hard. “Witches are evil.”

Riptide chuckled and looked down to his daughter. “Then are you a wizard?”

“No, boys are wizards,” the filly persisted. “I’m an enchantress.”

“Fair enough. Find me the Stone, young enchantress, and I will tell you and your friends where to find the Sword of Snowflake!”

“Yay!” the children all yelled in unison before running off into town to search for the magical stone.

Once they had rounded a corner, Riptide quickly dashed into his house. He dropped the crown on an end table and ran to the back yard, nearly running over his wife in the process.

“Hey, what’s the hurry?” Snowfall asked with a quizzical look as she dusted the counters.

“Can’t talk, have to go hide a rock for the kids,” he answered frantically, grabbing a white and blue painted rock his daughter gave them the year before. “Does this look like a magical stone to you?”


“If I were a magic rock, where would I be?” Lemon Bar asked as the three trotted through town, picking up every rock they could find. Except the ones in the road, that would just be silly.

“You’ve said that three times now, Lemon the Swift,” Red replied snidely.

“Red, be nice!” Ice told him with a nudge. “Or I’ll enchant you…into a toad.”

“A toad? Why a toad? Couldn’t you make me a dragon or something?” the colt asked with a confused stare, which quickly turned into a bright grin. “Oh, yeah! Make me a dragon so I can fly and find it faster!”

“You already have wings dodo,” Lemon pointed out, poking Red’s wings with a hoof.

“No, I’m pretending to be an earth pony.” He waved to their unicorn friend with a smirk. “Cryssy needs to enchant me with wings.”

The two ponies looked over to Ice as she tapped a hoof on her chin. “Nah,” she told them with a grin. “It wouldn’t be fair.”

“Oh come on!” Red shouted, throwing his hooves in the air dramatically as the two fillies trotted off laughing. “Just for a few minutes? Please?”

“No, we can find it like this,” Ice told him proudly. “How hard could it be?” The colt just sighed.

The three continued their quest to find the magical Stone of Snowflake, looking in every garden, under every cart, and behind every tree for the thing their king desired. Sometimes they thought they found it, but were corrected when an upset villager yelled at the heroes for being in their garden.

“We’re never going to find this thing!” Red moaned after being yelled at for the third time. “Why couldn’t we be sent to slay zombie bunnies or something? I want to use my sword!”

“Where would we find a zombie bunny? They aren’t real,” Lemon replied.

“We could pretend,” the colt persisted.

“Or,” Ice tried to argue, but stopped when her belly grumbled. “Or, we could get lunch. I’m hungry.”

Her two friends looked at her with a confused stare, then looked down as their own bellies agreed. In unison, the two looked back up to her and nodded.

“Yes, even heroes of Snowflake need lunch!” Ice called out proudly. “And I think mommy is making sandwiches,” she added, her silver eyes lighting up at the thought.

The three heroes all cheered and reared up before galloping back to Castle Snowflake.
