How to deal with haters

I usually just ignore them, but what if it gets too... serious. What would you do? I get loads of: You are gay and I hate bronies, etc.

I got a bad English but I hope you understood what I meant, and Im new to being a brony.

I just ignore them. More attention you give them - more they get what they want. In most cases it's ending up in "stop liking, what I don't like".
If you want/need you can parry with something like "I don't like Justin Bieber, but I'm not shouting at every his fan, that they are bad person, that they love that kind of music".

Ignore them. When I was new to being a brony, I didn't understand all the hate, despite being like 'LOL WTF IS THIS GAY SHIT' when I first saw it on 4chan.

I suppose it's a lot easier for me, since I come from 4chan's /b/

As long as it's on the net it's never too serious to not initiate the ignoring tactic, at least not for me anyway.
And in many aspects Haters are like Trolls, just continue ignoring them and they'll usually starve.

I've been insulted/put down by others long before I was a brony. Things like that tend to pass over my head. Ignorance is bliss, as the saying goes.

i dont really experience much of haters, a couple of my irl friends are bronies, a couple dont know about mlp, my roommate is a hater, i dont really care what he says

I don't deal with haters, at all. Mostly because I don't have haters. The closest thing to a hater I have is one of my closest friends, and he just hates the fandom, after a long time he finally admitted the show had reasons to be liked, and that it was decent for animation. He hates the bronies in general because he thinks it's a fandom that has grown far too quickly and become far too close to mainstream. You have to understand he was a pretty well-fit member of the furry community up until around 9 months ago, and most of his internet hate is rooted in the fact that random springing fandoms like ours would flood well known furry sites, which would take away from the original intent of said sites, be it sharing cute art or hardcore porn or whatever. It's like my hatred of /b/ and 4chan, simply rooted in the fact that on some of the first forums i was ever a part of 4channers would constantly come over and do stupid shit like link child porn and such.

oops, rambled. but yeah that's the maximum hate i endure, a guy that generally hates fandoms and such, but he's a close friend and as much as he rags on my for ponies, i rag on him for his furryness (or more recently, lack of furryness due to some 'relationship' he's gotten into). many 'fag's are thrown around, it's all good gay fun.

If it's in real life, and it's not jokingly done (like, I've got a friend who's always saying, "Ugh, you guys are watching that shit again?" but will happily sit through the entire Ponies Anthology several times in a row with us), I dunno. I've never had to deal with anyone like that. Ignore it, I'd recommend, and if forced into a confrontation about it, affect bored, haughty disinterest with the topic and the person's feelings. This is probably not the reaction the aggressor wants.

I have a very good set of arguments to pacify any haters, which included a couple of my friends. Note 'included'. They no longer care or are now bronies themselves. The former is partially my doing, but the latter is not.

Much of it consists of 'well, if you don't like it, that's alright and I understand, but you must accept what I might be, and come to realize that it doesn't change what kind of person I am'. My 'targets', all being friends of mine, accept this fairly readily, and it's pretty effective against the anons you'll run into that hate your guts for being something they're not.

I don't deal with haters a lot, sometimes I do and I tell them to screw off and get a life. I do however deal with Trolls and wanna be trolls, they are easy either:
A)ignore them and get on with life (most recommended)

B) act sweet and kind to them (depends how much you know about them and how much they are in your personal life)

C) out smart them (mid recommended depending on how intelligent you are)

D)sit there and try to fight back and complain (least recommended)

There are other ways I forgot to list however oh well, question is what is your way of dealing with them? <3

I was kind of like your friend, but I really never cared that my brother and friend were watching it across the room from me. I sat in on a few episodes myself, and found that the show was more enjoyable than many.

A few months later I've written a hundred thousand words of fanfiction and follow most community developments.

I've found a sound tactic is to just smile and be obnoxious, it lets folks know that their insults don't bug you, and to make you stop, they will have to just shut up about it. Though what kind of obnoxious really depends on the person you happen to be dealing with at the moment. The best way to beat a troll (Other than ignoring them) is to out-troll them with over the top optimism.
