Really bronies? Really?

So it has come to my attention that apparently Derpy's appearance actually ANGERED many fans of the show to the point that they wrote to the show's staff and complained about her. (not sure what the exact complaints were, but apparently they involved her voice and the way she behaved)

Honestly, I find this to be incredibly stupid. The writers put her in specifically to show how much they care about their fans, and now people are actually hating them for it? Derpy was the BG pony that fans wanted to see the most from what I've seen in the fandom, they gave it to us, and most of us loved it (I know I did).

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, people get upset over the stupidest stuff nowadays, and this is just another example of fans being disrespectful and unappreciative for what they've been given. But I still think it's ridiculous to see this going on at all in a community that lives by "Love and Tolerance". Way to learn from the show haters. (gonna go ahead and point out the episode where Rarity makes a dress for each of her friends, and the lesson being that 'when a friend gives you a gift, you should be appreciative even if it isn't exactly what you wanted'.)

Anyone else have thoughts or rants to throw in about this?

Sometimes, there's just no pleasing people.

Personally, I loved Derpy, but that's just because she was there, and spoke. Plus she was a clutz, and I found that humorous and cute.

I agree with both of you, she was clutzy and cute, and sure, Tabby went into that role not knowing Derpy's gender, but the voice still works I think! Why can people not be satisfied?

I love Derpy even more now, the people that complain are just stupid. There is seriously nothing wrong with how they made her and anyone that actually wrote in to the show is doing nothing but possibly ruining the chances of more background ponies getting speaking roles.

Woah. Isn't that taking it a bit too far? I mean Derpy is a lovable character and this is a kids show after all. If it what makes kids laugh and stuff, why da buck do you need to fix it if ain't broken. I agree with the troll stuff.

I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Derpy. I just don't get much character potential out of her. But she's at least humorous and well made.

I think it's funny how people complain about Derpy, and not Patrick Star or Goofy.
Either way the whole last round-up thing is messed up beyond recognition.

The studio is still hiding her so atleast she isn't gone forever, I think we should just drop the last round up drama. It's causing a lot of bronies to forget the very first lesson the show teaches us, Friendship, love, and tolerance.

You know that rule where rules don't always apply to the rules themselves or their originators?

Well we are allowed to be mad at Hasbro, because trying to say we shouldn't because mlp taught us to be tolerant is almost like saying someone tells you not to hurt others, then they hit you, and because they just told you not to you don't retaliate.

Odd analogy but it works in my head.

But hasbro didn't really attack us, They just tried to be sensitive to people's complaints. If they taught us to be tolerant, and then led a crackdown against the weird parts of the fandom, then I could see how that's them not learning from their own lessons.
