Nopony has done this yet so: What Is Your Favorite Video Game Genre?

Survival/Horrors, Action, and FPS
Dead Space, Doom (ALL of them), GoW, recently Batman Arkham City (even if I couldn't take anything Harley Quinn said seriously and actually called her Twilight once or twice), and yes CoD (mostly 1-4 though, MW2 and MW3 were kinda dissappointing).

So excited for Doom 4!

I prefer RPGs, but only console-style or those with interesting battle systems. I can't play strat-RPGs and don't particularly enjoy them, though. I like Survival-Horror games as well for the puzzles and intriguing plots that seem to arise for them. Also, adventure games are pretty neat, but recently there really hasn't been anything new or interesting. I'm not that great at FPS's, as they tend to be clunky on the console.

I especially love the "Tales Of" series, Pokemon, and Borderlands.

Borderlands was an awesome game! i still have the origional Pokemon Yellow Version with the purple see-through Gameboy Color!

I can't vote since I have no favourite. I always think equally of anything.

I played borderlands for a while, but after I realized how long it took to get anywhere, I got bored :P

As for RPG's, I went through a phase where that was all I played, mostly Mass Effect (still don't know how much time I spent on those games).

I stopped playing Pokemon after the 2nd gen, everything after that just repeated to me I still have my yellow version, and play it on occasion

Mass Effect 1 and 2 were amazing games and I loved playing them (Garrus = love).

I can certainly understand your opinion on the Pokemon games, and I especially detest the 3rd generation for being absolutely horrible. I've played all generations of the games, but I figure it's not for the new Pokemon or anything like that, but rather I enjoy the meticulousness of training my pokemon and going through the gyms over and over again.

It's odd, though... I can except repetition for some games, but when other games are essentially copy-pastes of their predecessors, it infuriates me.

I somewhat enjoyed that part of the games, training your pokemon constantly never got old to me.

and I agree here too, I can do that over and over in Pokemon games, but any time I play an RPG that requires me to get in a bunch of little battles to level up or whatever it just ends up getting boring until I stop playing it entirely

RPG's are fun - unfortunately i'm stuck with fable for a while which is more of an adventure game so i gotta wait until i can get skyrim :/

I like any shooters(COD, Halo, Gears, My Little Shooters (XD)) but i just can't seem to play RPG's. The only one's i've played were Mass Effect 2(never beat it, got bored) and Pokemon(which was only Pokemon Red, Blue, Silver, and the next one after that).

But I also like Skate, Need for Speed(the older ones), and Portal. I like to balance out the games :P cuz the shooters just get plain stupid at times -_-

RPGs out of the options provided, but I like strategy (especially grand strategy like Hearts of Iron and Galactic Civilizations) just as much.

Apparently they do in his game. After all, it's an alternate history game.

Personally, my favorite scenario to play out is playing shrewdly leading into WWII so as to avoid the collapse of the British Empire afterwards. As the British, obviously.

Heheh, when I do play, it's US, I jsut hate that I can't declare war willy-nilly..

I myself prefer the other games, I think vicky II most, can't wait for AHD. (or Christmas when I have money to buy the game XD)

I can't say as I have a favourite genre, as I like games from all sorts of genres. However, there are a few I don't really get on with.

I don't really like RPGs, I often can't be bothered with all the levelling up and stat management that goes with them, I don't really have the patience for them. That having been said I really loved both Mass Effect games so far.

There are very few FPS games I like, and this is because they're generally speaking all very similar - if you've played one FPS you've pretty much played all of them. Also, Most FPS games that are released these days tend to focus on the online multiplayer rather than the single player campaign and I don't often play online (and when I do it's usually just me and a few friends)

Also, I don't like sports games because I don't really see the point in them (also, don't get me started on EAs release strategy of releasing the same game with an incrementally larger number on the end every year).

Now, as for games I do like, as I said I like games from a wide variety of genres which makes it quite difficult to choose a favourite - in fact pretty much all my favourite games were on Spitfire's list, lol.

I'm a massive Ratchet and Clank fan, I've found all of those games really fun to play and the story lines were engaging as well (which reminds me, I still have to finish All 4 One). Another action platformer series I really enjoyed was Sly Cooper, I didn't play these when they were originally released on the PS2, but I got the trilogy that was released for the PS3 and enjoyed every minute, really looking forward to the new one that due out next year.

I really liked both Condemned games - in fact Condemned is the first game to come close to actually scaring me since the original Silent Hill (which I still refuse to play, LOL!) They were an interesting take on the FPS focusing more on the melee combat rather than gun play. Also, the forensic investigation bit I found quite fun as I'm a forensic science student.

Metal Gear is another of my favourite series and again is a slightly different take on the action shooter genre focusing on stealth - though they did go a bit mad towards the end of the series. Similarly I've enjoyed the Splinter Cell series so far, I recently got that re-mastered trilogy as well, completely forgot exactly how hard the first game was, hehe.

I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting, but those are the ones that stand out as favourites.

I normally just play Team fortress 2/Minecraft/Garrysmod/Portal
those are the only games i have

It's a mix between RPGs, RTSes, and TPSes.

I like RPG's and TPS's.
I like FPS's on occasion, but they need to be something more interesting than a modern day shooter.

mordern day shooters arre a little boring, i really like the ww2 shooters.

It seems you have forgotten RTS/Strategy. This genre is my favorite MMO's are missing as well lol.

Damn it, I forgot survival-horror.
Especially the kind where you really get sucked into it.

good surival horror games are always worth the play.......like the earlier silent hill games.

The truth is I like all genres of games, ifthey are enjoyable to me. I will play any type of game as long as I think it is fun.
