What Harmony said. Past Sins sounds like a neat story, but I have enough stuff to read currently, and even more shit to do. One of the stories I need to get back to is Crisis: Equestria, I stopped on Chapter 15 around when I was juggling it and PH.

Hallelujah! The Long Earth has a sequel! It's not the best Terry Pratchett book I've ever read (and it's the only Stephen Baxter book I've ever read), but it was intriguing and inspirational (in a creative way) and I didn't think they were making another. Glad to be proved wrong!

I think I was one of the folks who linked this thread to that story--and for good reason. It's just so amazing.....the awesome technology, compelling characters, and the fact that it's not anti-pony or anti-human--the future contains ponies and humans working together, seeding the stars with life (and floating around in super-massive planet/ships in the interim

I just read the Wikipedia entry for The Long Earth and I don't think I get "it".
Pratchet said "wars result from lack of land"? Is that really what he thinks?

Don't think so, or not in terms of "this is the only reason wars happen." I mean... the sequel is apparently about a war starting up, and there's effectively an infinite amount of land in the story, sooo, yeah.
