Sorry it's a little short, but I didn't have much to say except for some big points I felt the need to hit. Even if most of it is pointing out my rage at Crimson's actions. It's nothing against your story, I still think it's amazing, I just don't like him that much right now.

sosososo excited! Okay, here we go.
Okay, this is the point where either I can't remember who Limoncello is, or it hasn't been brought up quite yet.
Opening is still amazing, and I fear for Cherry at this point. Hopefully she'll at least get treated semi-goodish.
Eos: Woo! I was right, she loves how Crimson treats her like a normal pony and not some goddess or leader who should only be worshipped or looked up to rather than cared about or seen as an equal. It seems that her sisters may feel the same way, but not as strongly.
The one issue I have with her now though is that she purposely kept what happened to Cherry away from him. I can get why she did it, after all he was recovering and we've already seen his insistence to jump up and help anyone he can despite how badly he's hurt. So I don't blame her for it entirely, but after he realized Cherry wasn't with them and actually asked where she was, she could have at least explained that she was missing and that they had everyone they could searching for her, even if it was a lie it might put him somewhat at ease. Maybe not tell him that the enemy captured her (if they even know that), but at least do something to calm him down.

I'm not going to bother berating Crimson for purposely increasing security again.
Neon has a broadcaster now? Has Crimson met a single pony that doesn't?
Crimson, please tell me you aren't getting upset over executing someone for revenge, because you've done it for much stupider reasons than that.
And then you turn around and swear to kill him in revenge if he hurts Cherry... seriously Crimson, you really do piss me off sometimes. I understand that you're in love and all, but that doesn't mean you can just do what you want even if you disagree with somebody else doing it. It's not some kind of magical 'I do what I want' key that only you have. And seriously, it pisses me off that you said you would personally kill Blueheart if he hurt Cherry, but when he said he'd do the same to you for hurting his brother and sister-in-law you denied it from him. So apparently you're the only one in the world who is allowed to get revenge now?
"I'm hurt by the fact that you thought you could squeeze all of the effection possible out of me before letting me hear that"
Really Crimson? Is it so horrible that she wanted to show you how much she appreciated what you did for her sister? And is it so bad that it made you happy for a time too? Are you really so self centered that you can't take a little appreciation if it means going another 10 minutes without hearing bad news? She just wanted to make sure you were okay, that you stayed safe, and that you could be happy for a little bit before you learned about what happened, she wasn't trying to torture you or make you forget that Cherry existed or something. Stop being such an ass.
Okay, overall it was a nice, sweet little chapter that I really enjoyed. It was a good break from the action of the last few, and did a good job of showing some interactions and setting the stage for things to come. True, I was quite pissed at Crimson through most of it mostly because he was being a hypocritical, self-centered ass 90% of the time, but I can get over it. I know they say that 'love makes you do stupid things', but honestly lashing out at everyone around you and never accepting that you were in the wrong still makes you a dick.
So yeah, still not a big fan of Crimson right now, but oh well, can't like the protagonist all the time I suppose.
Keep up the great work Kipper, and I eagerly await the next chapter!

I'm really sorry for writing Crimson in a way you dislike as of late. That wasn't my intention at all though I do understand where you're coming from and I'm glad you're still enjoying the story as a whole despite that.
I'm really glad you enjoy the story though and still think it's great. To hear that really does make me smile a lot, because of how little I think about my writing ability thanks to always reading Project Horizons and being unable to stop comparing myself to that.
I'm also really glad that the break from action feels natural and well deserved. I'm also beyond pleased that I set the stage well, this is a major part in my story, just like the last chapter was. Setting the stage for it is therefore very important. So yeah, thank you again.
Again, sorry for Crimson being rage inducing. hah. I really didn't mean for him to be that bad, I was going for the "CRIMSON GONNA BE PISSED" rather than "CRIMSON GONNA BE STUPID" feel.
I had also been meaning to throw more anger from Crimson into the chapter, in my original plan he yells at just about everyone over it all.
However, what I plan and what I write often varies quite a bit.
Crimson can definitely be a dick at times, and self centres, though you'd have to expect a tiny little bit of those given the upbringing he's had of being someone really important his entire life. He hasn't got the same modesty of an everyman, though he's not an utter cunt like he could've grown up to be, at least.
Hopefully he can redeem himself for you in later chapters and make the story even more exciting to read.

To be honest, I shouldn't have expected anyone to remember Limoncello. Hell, even I had to back check her name for continuity issues.
Limoncello is Cherry Sundae's sister.
You were right indeed about the girls. Helios and Selene have each other and so does Eos, but Eos has a personality that craves to be close to others just that little bit more than they do. They aren't cold, they just haven't gotten deeply upset by it so far.
Eos knows she has a position of power and a role of leadership to take, but she still wants to be cared about.
You're right with the reasoning, she didn't want to hurt him and it was a little selfish of her to hold it back from him - even if she hadn't told him the very second he woke up but answered him as soon as he asked it would have been better than to continue to hold it back.
That's why Crimson was hurt and yes, it is selfish of him in a way to be upset with her for wanting to show him how much she appreciates how much he's done for her thus far, though Crimsons argument back to you would be that she could show him how much she appreciates him by then being there for him after he's told about Cherry.
Instead of crying on his own, he could have been crying into her chest while having his mane stroked and comforted - that would have been an even deeper sign of her appreciation to allow him to do that.
What she did removed his desire to confide his sorrow in her, however. For a time, anyway.
I just hope it didn't feel too cliché to you with the special forces part. I want Alpha / Bravo / what came of Echo to be a powerhouse that you can recognise even though they're new, but not to be completely cardboard cut-out and unoriginal.
With the security part, it wouldn't matter at this point unless they put every soldier on the defence of the barracks, which would mean leaving no soldiers in a highly unstable region straight after having a major battle with high losses and loss of a piece of infrastructure, massively reducing their influence into another region... so he's fine.
I know it sounds stupid, yes, but really what is better:
-Not risking communicating with Cherry and reduce morale by the fact it would make her feel forgotten or unimportant, maybe she'd assume Crimson is dead or that no-one cares she's missing. Maybe she'd assume -everyone- died in the battle despite her best effort.

-Contact her, keep her spirits high and let her know you'll be coming. it might put the enemy on a higher alert for a 'possible' attempt to
break her out at any point which you don't know when it'd be, causing
you to put soldiers to guard a target and reduce their morale as they
begin to fear when it'll happen...
Yeah, it puts them on a higher alert, but with the help of the special forces team, with the help of the influence they've just won and with proper information, assaulting the barracks isn't going to be a meat-grinder of certain death. Not if done properly.
As for Neon, he doesn't have a broadcaster but Crimson was unsure if he did. The chance was there though because Four Ridges got a lot of popbucks from Coltchester in the past, seeing as it was a military city that produced them - and a lot where commanders models which included broadcaster for relaying orders.
(Something Crimson and Titan will explain later in story, I just keep forgetting to find some time to add it in.)
The difference is that to Crimson, executing Cherry at all would be a nuclear bomb. He knows he's executed for less than that, he knows that it's stupid, selfish and foolish of him to demand otherwise, but that's how he feels.
Could you honestly stay calm if someone was holding your significant other who you felt strongly about and and was told that their commanders wanted her to be executed... just to piss you off?
It would work on me, I assure you.
As for the whole brother / sister-in-law part, Crimson was trying to show what he would do to keep Cherry alive and safe. If the captain has requested he simply bring them to him, he would have, but given his status of shoot on sight, that becomes a lot harder. Instead, he promises that they would stay safe and unharmed under the best deterrent he can offer.
That is his way of promising he'll cooperate. That is his way of showing his humility in this situation.
He knows his best plan to play along, so he offers to do the best he can to help.
On the hurt issue, I explained that earlier - but yeah, you've got a point. Sorry, I hadn't thought about that while writing it. I was in character in my head and even with his speech skill, he has his flaws and triggers and he has his ups and downs, he has his moments where even being a smooth talker can't save him from himself and that's how I hope he's a lot more... realistic and less overpowered with his speech.

Don't worry about it man, if that's how his character is, that's how he is. I can't like every character, and I still do like a lot about him, it's mostly just some of his decisions and things he's done that I don't like. I still absolutely love the story despite him. So if you ever worry that I'm mad about his character and that's somehow your fault, don't. Crimson will be Crimson, and if that angers me sometimes then oh well. I've loved a lot of what he's done throughout the story, and I'm sure as it continues I'll find more points where I give him all of my approval.
And I completely understand the 'CRIMSON GONNA BE PISSED' because honestly I would be too if someone I cared for was put in the same situation as Cherry. I just don't like how he's treating others because of it. And that makes sense for his self-centeredness, because he's always been treated as someone important because of his future position.
And don't worry about the long wait between chapters, I take forever to do mine as well, so I couldn't get upset about that without being hypocritical. It just makes it so that when a new chapter does arrive, I get extremely excited and will drop pretty much everything to read it.
And yeah, don't worry about the long wait to reply either, I went to bed like 10 minutes after I posted, and you are fully allowed to sleep after writing so late.

Yeah, it almost scares me how well it fits because he's only read the prologue and half of chapter 1 so far.
I haven't even told him about the latest chapter, so it's like... damn.
That is exactly his response xD and if she had no contact from him or her crew, she'd only be able to hang on so long herself. Even with training, you've gotta have hope for a rescue.

Ahhhh, it feels good to finally be back to writing.
4.5k done in a session, which I hadn't expected to get anywhere near that much done tonight.
Glad I did. It's totally made this chapter a little more exciting and padded it out somewhat, no doubt about that.
I just hope I've written this part decently... I'll definitely go back on it tomorrow and add some more pain to even things out, I think.

It seems I have reached the highest levels of absolute retard loser.
It's very possible this is some kind of side effect of tiredness, pain exhaustion and all the painkillers I've taken in the last 30 hours or so (around 4,800mg of Ibuprofen based tablets - that's 24 tablets when they state that you shouldn't have more than 6 in 24 hours).
However, with the absence of Crimson being able to hold Cherry and then deciding to listen to this song:
...my heart weeps. I want them to be together again. I feel sad because they aren't. I want to write them being happy together, holding one another and whispering quiet musings of their affection.
I want his hoof to gently brush against her chest, the nuzzling and breathing in eachothers scent.
I want them to hold one another again.
God, why did I write their relationship in place of a real one for myself?
I decided I'd use them as a way to express my fondness for my at the time, very close friend - and then it became a way to heal and then, their own relationship and everything I wish I could be and have.
Why!? WHAIIII!?!? Now my heart falls asunder at the thought of them being apart, knowing there's more waiting before they can be reunited.
/whines/

Attempting to move in the slightest caused more agony and when I eventually managed to get up and walk to the toilet an hour later, I fell to the floor and almost threw up from the pain alone. (which I always thought was just an expression... nope. It really happens.)
Anyway, found out that I've got meds I forgot about and I've been taking them religiously every so often.
Still in pain, though. I always get funny like this when I'm on so much painkiller.
It's tempting to go for the full 5,000mg before hitting the sack tonight but I guess that 5,000mg is a little too much in such a short time.

Um, in my medical opinion, you should try to get something stronger than Ibuprofen for that, especially since it isn't working. If you don't stop taking the Ibu, at the rate you're going your liver is at risk of suddenly failing, and that's not good.
Get someone to take you to the hospital or something if you have to, just stop taking all those pills. Like now.

I'll be fine. I'm not taking any more for tonight but me and my liver are best of bro's, he can handle it.
I don't normally throw him any crap to handle so this can't be any worse than having a heavy drinking session.
Besides, I'll slow down the consumption but the meds are working enough to keep me walking around and working, so that's fine for me.
If I get tot he point where I was at yesterday again, I'll definitely be going down the doctors / hospital though.

And no, a guy your size can't do that. It's a lot different than drinking, because Ibu effects your entire body. It goes through your liver, your kidneys (which could also shutdown from an Ibu OD), and it effects your lungs.
I know you feel better, but it's going to do a hell of a lot more damage than good for you.

Absolutely. Lacunae is good and all, but honestly I kinda got tired of her only being a pit of despair and horrible memories.
Eos is awesome because she has those bad parts of her, but she's got that light side too. She wants so badly to be cared for and to care for someone else, just to feel normal and not like the monster she was seen as (and still is by some) during their time in the Unity. It's believable to me, and I love that in a character. Maybe it's because everyone can relate to it in some way, that desire to be loved and to love somebody.

Well, you deserve it man. Broken Bonds is amazing, and has some of my favorite characters from all of the FoE universe. It deserves a lot more love than it's been getting.
