Por Que? sweetie belle

So, the Sweetie Belle emote:

Has changed, it used to have the shortcut "Sweetie Belle" which would automatically generate the smiley. This was an old feature of the site and was around since the day we first put those emotes on the site, so within the first week or two.

Why did it change? Now it's just "sweetie" encased in colons.

It's not that i really want it back, though it was fun to see it randomly show up, i just want to know why it changed.

I think too many people (myself included) disliked that the emote was her name, so any time you typed it you got the emote instead of your intended meaning.

Well scyto I think you could have just not capitalized it....

I changed it because anytime someone tried to type her name that face showed up. Now it has the same coding as every other emote.

But Camo! That was the point!

And the counter point is that it is annoying. There is a reason that standards are developed Derpy. It makes no sense to keep the code that way when it doesn't follow the standards. Following the ":blankety blank:" coding just makes it simpler to use for everyone.

Technically the sweetie belle one was around the same time as the "standard" was made... And you must remember this is a casual site built by a 15 year old and now run by randomly appointed people, the "standard" is more of a simple commonality than a set rule lol.

No, the standard for emotes has been around for many years. I didn't mean just on this site. And I know that it is not a set rule, but it is commonly accepted, and therefore makes it easier for new members of the site to figure it out quicker.
