LGBTQ Bronies

[I posted this on the sister site as well]

A persistent comment about the brony community is that we're "all gay." This should obviously be patently false to anyone who's taken even a cursory look at our fandom. However, I'd be interested in hearing from those bronies who really are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, and everything in between.

The "man behind the pony" over here is a gay male. I've been out of the closet for a little more than a year now.

NOTE: There is no transgendered option in the poll because transgendered is not a sexual orientation, it's a gender identity. However, it's what the "T" in "LGBTQ" stands for, so I encourage any and all transgendered bronies to post here as well!

I'm bisexual but usually just call myself a lesbian because I'm way more into girls than guys, plus where I'm from being bi pretty much means you're a 13 year old girl who makes out with her friends to get attention from guys and I don't really want to be associated with people like that!

I'm straight. Have no problem with other people's choice though.

i am also straight, and i agree with Linguz. i have no problem with other peoples choice. you are what you are, and anyone who trys to change that is wrong.

Yeah, Same here. I'm straight, but, why does it matter?
If you find love, want to be with, or just like, someone of the same sex, what's the difference between that and someone of the opposite sex?

the only barrier I can see is religion. and that's a wee bit outdated if you as me..

Trans*guy Pony Here! I choose other because I'm queer. I can't really define who I like.
I'm Feme, proud, and I'm attracted to Feme types, with a few exceptions.
I enjoy some girly things, but I still prefer male pronouns.

Same here. Straight as a ruler. We got some gay guys in our class but they're cool. They usually are the one who sets the fashion trends in our school.

Well it's certainly nice to see an LGBTQ presence here, and I'm proud of the brony community that it is for the most part ahead of the curves on issues like this.

For any of the LGBTQ individuals here, if you'd be willing to share I'd be interested to hear what it was like for you coming to terms with your sexuality/gender identity, coming out, etc. My own story forthcoming.

I'm straight, but I have no problem with people of other orientations. In fact, I support homosexual marriage and other rights. If it makes them happy then who am I to ruin their happiness?

Personally I am straight, but as the others here have said, I think that whatever sexual orientation you are is great. Love is love, no matter who it is.

I've found myself becoming very... I guess asexual recently. I seem to have no physical or emotional attraction to anyone I know or see; male or female.

I care for everyone equally aside from direct family, and don't have any feelings beyond friendship for anyone else i know (which wouldn't seem bad, but I'm actually supposed to be in a dedicated relationship right now).

I'm not sure what caused this sudden change, but honestly I don't mind it either...

In all seriousness, I've been becoming the same way, which I noticed when I chose to cull back my "stuff" instead of the many other things I usually do (Games, downloads, old programs, ponies (old, low quality episodes, for new HQ episodes with no messed up anything)).
For the longest time it's been normal, but, now I just don't do it much anymore, and similarly the usual feelings of "why don't I try to get a girlfriend, why not just ask someone out?" and instead I've stopped pondering it.

People may say ponies are making us gay, or some horseshit (why is this the first time I've used this pun?) but in reality, I think it has for me at least. I've stopped pining over women, and while I don't pine over guys, it's still not "normal". I've seriously made the decision, multiple times, fap or ponies?


And I choose ponies.

FAKE EDIT: oh, and Lyra, I don't find that weird at all, I myself do the same afterwards, after pony now. (funny, I'm in a better mood usually after pony...)

I am strange in the sense that I always approach everything in a highly philosophical stance. Now, basically that means I'm a highly detached person from everything. I've found myself just laying in my bed staring up at my ceiling running through scenarios of what I truly am. I can say that I believe that I am straight, but I've had gay guys hit on me, which I will admit, I enjoyed. I have flirted with guys as well, but more in the regard to see if those sensations existed, so really it was an experiment. I didn't get much thrill, but I cheered some guys up.

This led to me looking at women. Now in regards, I love women's bodies, not in the regard of a perverted sense, but of an artistic sense. I love drawing women's bodies be it dressed or nude, it doesn't bother me. I think that was enough appeal to make me assume that I am straight. I have a girlfriend, going on 7 months. I'm sure given the right personality I could pretty much go for anything.

And what did I learn from my detachment from everything? That I hate humanity for trying to put labels on people. I say let the people love how they want to love. They don't have to be called gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, transexual, or queer. I call them people with exquisite tastes. I always root for the gay community against the nut-jobs that want to put laws against gay marriage. I say let them marry and be happy.

I still find myself searching for who I truly am, sometimes feeling less and less human in this world. hahaha I'm just a crazy nut-job. XD

I have to agree with you Shadefire. Humanity has lost its humanity. Most have just become blind to the world around them by illusions of society... I wonder if we will ever live in a world that lets love be able to exist and be love without any conditions or discriminations. That would be nice.

It would be nice, yes, but I severely doubt it happening within my lifetime.

It is already here, every generation has it's love others movement. We are proud members of this one

I however am straight, even though I've never gone on a date before... Small island I have and I'm not good at talking to girls.
