so i asked my new girlfriend and her brother who they thought was the best pony. they both said rainbowdash. i wanted ro know from a larger source. so tell me, in your opinion, who is best pony(reasons why are optional). you can either do a 1 word answer or a long speech about whos your favorite. personally, i think the G.A.P trixie is the best. why you may ask. blue+unicorn=its my opinion.

Derpy is the queen of the fandom.

In canon, Rainbow Dash is most awesome pony, Rarity is best pony, and Luna is best princess. Canon Princess Celestia has barely an ounce of characterization and her mane is fat. Fanon wise, I actually like Princess Cadence from Cadance of Cloudsdale lots, but nopony beats Queen Derpy.

I think I've let it be known that I like AJ more than the others.

Never really got why Braeburn is so well liked. Yes I know the reason and all that, but personally he never caught my attention.

Princess wise I take Luna over any of them.

I used to really like Fluttershy, but it quickly grew apparent that her personality is the least developed or nuanced of the group.

As for why people like Twilight, I think it's because, as the introverted intellectual, she resonates the most with a majority of the fanbase.
Also, she's really, really adorable. Sure, Fluttershy's cute, but the innocent, wide-eyed way Twilight approaches the world, especially how she sees Celestia, just blows her out of the water. She's really frickin' adorable.

Also, I see there are Lunar rebels in these parts. Treacherous curs!

In short, Twilight is adorkable.
It's not like Fluttershy hasn't receive proper development ("Putting Your Hoof Down" for example) it just didn't stick and after the episodes she was always back to her old self without any noticeable difference. Though we could've seen some of the more assertive Fluttershy in "Keeps Calm and Flutter On", there were different problems with that episode. I blame devs and inconsistent character development. Spike 

Also, I couldn't care less about some Lunar Rebels, the NLR vs SE (and its variations) is just silly and is getting old. :P

I used to think it was Pinkie Pie, but by the second season I realized how incredibly annoying she was. Probably since every joke was pretty much 'Pan to Pinkie Pie doing something'. I ended up growing tired of her. So right now, out of the mane 6, i'd say Fluttershy. Just her adorableness and casual commenting.

Out of the whole show, its probably Braeburn. I'd like to have a tour around his Appleloosa if you know what I mean.

It's not just that development doesn't stick (which it hasn't, there are literally like four-five episodes in which she discovers how to be proactive only to forget the very next episode) , it's that her personality literally only is that she's quiet, shy, and nice. You can't really experiment with that without driving her wildly out of character, and there just isn't that much depth there. At least with Rainbow, there's some room to texture and enough depth of character to play with.
I think part of why she and Rainbow Dash  got shafted when it comes to deep character development is that they're both ridiculously popular, and that the writers/Hasbro are afraid that changing them significantly will upset fans and kill their popularity.


As for your second statement, there is no room for neutrality in civil war. If you will not submit to the Goddess, you will be crushed by the Goddess. Praise Celestia!
