i wrote a fanfiction once, now i know ill never be good at it.

I know my writing is sub-par, but it doesn't stop me from trying my best regardless

I've finished Duck and Cover!, not sure why it took me so long. It's great; both as a satire of the original FoE, and simply as good reading.

I was reading "Night's Favoured Child" at the time as well...

The idea of Twilight being tutored by Luna/Nightmare Moon seems to be a popular one

Been reading through some of ShortSkirtsAndExplosions stories and I can safely say I have a love-hate relationship with them.
They're sweet, but there's always a wrench thrown in to liven it up and characters often end up dropping like flies.

One of my favorite writers, Sergei Lukjanenko, has just said that a book of his is now translated and released worldwide. It's The Genome.
It's been years since I've read that one, but I remember it being good.

If you like sci-fi stuff, I can happily recommend Memory Pending and Forgiveness Pending

Thankfully, the original story has two endings, one that leads into its sequel and one that lets it end on its own

Also, Dexter gets sent to Equestria
Oh, this is gonna be good...

I was reading a big Eva / Mass Effect crossover, Alpha and Omega.
The first volume I've liked, even though a lot of readers will probably say some choice words about this variation of Shinji (you know, first word begins with M, second with S).
The second volume pissed me the hell off. Apparently, the author hates Rebuild, and takes it out on the characters.

An Evangelion fic that I kinda liked: Thousand Shinji (a WH40K crossover).

Another good one: Deus Ex Evangelion (not a DE crossover)

Here some best digs from last half-year of exploring "Dark" tagged stories (mostly with 60K-300K words):

1. "The Conversion Bureau - Gypsy" - in this universe there a lot of fanfics, but realy few hooks me. This one does ).                                                                                         
   
2. "Upheaval: Breaking Point" - if you like "The stranger and her frend" this one also qute good in "dark fantasy" theme (and there "Upheaval: Reckoning" sequel, but after impressive evil beginning i've lost my interest in the middle...).                                                                                                                                                          
   
3. "H'ven Sent" - simply nice mix of technology, life evilness, mystery and cynicism. Not finished but worth to read in current state...
   
   
4. "Princess Celestia: The Changeling Queen" - Changelings and drama, drama and Changelings! Not finished but worth to read in current state...
   
   
5. "Solitary locust" - amount of overbear is close to Project Horizons level! 
   
   
6. "Fallout Equestria - We're no heroes" - from author of "H'ven Sent", really like it - life is terribly unfair but somepony still trying "do better" ...
   
   
7. "Harmony theory" - a lot of facepalm-level moments but also a lot of "wow!" scenes. Serious, multi-layered story with strong post-feel (not finished but worth to read in current state...)
   
   
8. "Days of Wasp and Spider" - "1984"-like, hi-tech & magic & ponykind in trouble... There a sequel "Final Solution" (not finished but worth to read in current state...)

1. "Equestrian Earth the MMORPG" by Chaotic Note - The story that I have wanted to read since I found out about it in January... 2014.

2. "Earth Ponies Can Cast Spells Too" by Paulicus - Interesting concept, gonna read it when more chapters are released.

3. " The Lies We Tell to Children" by GaPJaxie - Found this via Feature Page, been wanting to have a read. But other stuff came up..

4. "Lyra's Ultimate Item Emporium" by TheSlorg - Heh, found this early last year. Written by the only EQD member that's Australian (That's all I know) I'm sure this will give me a laugh ^^

And many more, and according to my "Read Later" list I have about 50 stories so far to read....



There are going to be so many late nights soon...
And Luna's going to haunt me, asking where I've been ;D
