Fanfic Followings

Okay, this question is out of general curiosity, but it's also as much about finding out if I'm really as batshit crazy as I think I am.

How many fanfics is everyone following right now, across all media? (anything not counted as complete)

I was following Heroes but got to chapter 10 as it was released and fell asleep during it.
Haven't gone back to it since, and its now on chapter 18

Sort've following another fic for someone who follows mine, and while there's good qualities to it in some respects, the writing is a little... yeah.
The story has its good aspects but hard to quite make heads or tails of it.

Which is confusing since it apparently has three editors, though saying that they have been going back on chapters and updating, so they may have very well done that since I last read them.



There was two other stories, but one only reached chapter four before going on hiatus and the other didn't really catch my attention much.


Kkat spoiled me by being able to create such an epic universe which everyone wants to be a part of.
Somber has spoiled me with an unparalleled skill in creating deep, believable, emotionally attachable characters - and that's not just for the main crew, or even for the allies.
Somber manages to give even the major bad guys, big bad groups and even the little gangs a deep, meaningful and believable backstory.

Then there's the fact he can write characters that by any other author, would be Mary Sue, but with his hand, are still with their flaws, weaknesses and most importantly; are exceptionally interesting both in themselves and to read.


...So that makes reading other stories hard for me.

Not too impressive, but that's what my current reading que is. However before I can read any of that I have to finish the next chapter of my own fic...
As an added note, most of these have mulitiple chapters I haven't read (I've got 21 unread chapters on FiMFiction, and 5 between MNZ and PH)

Project Horizon, Heroes, and Murky Number Seven. All are FoE fics.

Other then that I'm not currently following any other stories. I know I should but haven't gotten around to it.

I read up to 12 I think of My Little Metro, but I don't follow it anymore. Got boring.
I read FOE, and Pink Eyes through.
Following PH, and the The Thing crossover, which I think is called something along the lines of The First Night of Winter. As well as Kippershy's Broken Bonds.
I also need to catch up with Heroes and MNS.

My brother's two active fics, Dropping In and Imperial Guardspony, are actually really good, and I don't just say this because he is my twin. I honestly like them.

On FiMFiction, I'm following nineteen incompletes and nine on hiatus, with twenty-three unread updates. I do not read many grimdark stories, and none of the Fo:E spin-offs. They just aren't what I come looking for in a story about ponies. I might read those eventually.

Countless one shots that I had no reason to track but still enjoyed.

Lost track, but at least over a dozen.

GoogleDocs:
Let's put it this way, On EqD, I've read a good 3/4 of the five star archive.

Also among these three sights, I am currently tracking over a dozen different FOE sidefics, not including the original and Project Horizons.

That being said, the FOE fics are about the only Grimdark tales I actually read. The rest are usually slice of life, normal, or comedy with a bit of romance thrown in for good measure.

Going by FimFiction I'm following 97 stories (with 254 unread updates). That's only what I have favorited/tracked )I'm pretty sure that I've read a bunch of them and that some are one shots) since I know at one point I had so many FimFic and GoogleDoc tabs open that FireFox would crash trying to load them all (of course it dumped them all but I had to have had 20 tabs devoted to stories on each of my three open windows). That's just my desktop. My laptop probably has another 10-20.

I've been staying away from the EQD so that I don't get even more swamped.

Well, not sure right now. I've got to get through FimFic tabs, I have 846 unread updates in favs, and 289 fics set to Read Later right now.
And estimated word count 3 789 563 words read.

But if I was to judge from my downloaded fics it would be...

313 fics in total.
179 fics complete, less than half of them read.
134 fics incomplete/on hiatus, several of them read to the last released chapter.

Most of them are from FimFic, some are DA ereaders and EQD. Some are all three of them.

I'm going through them right now so I'll be able to provide more precise numbers later.
