YES! Rose becoming fully canon made me quite happy, seeing as she's the first blindbag I ever opened!
Also, the cake twins: YES, Snow Globe Derpy made me laugh and tempted me to rewind and see it again, Dashie reading made me quite happy for continuity's sake and as we all know, Smile is an official song and remixes and PMV's are eminent. Birthdays... Well, let's think about this. does that mean that the other holidays are on their respective weekends? That would certainly prevent continuity in terms of specific dates since theres only one episode airing every saturday and 365 days doesn't go evenly into seven day weeks.

Not to sound like an ass...but I read the script and summary of the episode, and it sounds like a bit of a disappointment.
I mean, Pinkie irritates this guy as soon as he meets her, ruins his toupee, destroys the scrapbook which is his only memory of the one he loves, badgers him constantly to accept her apology and be her friend, and then magically at the end he wants to be her friends.
Sorry, but that's not even remotely acceptable to me. So Pinkie re-introduced the two, that's great, and he can be happy for that. But after everything she did to him, I severely doubt he would forget all of that in literally 1 second and change his mind.
And the lesson...you can always find a reason to smile? Am I the only one that calls bullshit on this? I can't be the only one here that has had those times in life when you are completely incapable of happiness or smiling.
I may be biased, because Pinkie has always irritated me with her attitude and self-centered actions, but this doesn't really sound like a good episode to me.
On the plus side: Smile Smile Smile is a great song, and incredibly catchy!

I was more interested in the side content of the episode and the other tidbits, which is why the episode was enjoyable. However, I agree with Lyra/Red that the main plot of the episode was pretty poorly done, and did not meet many of the standards we expect from the usually brilliant writers.

I also agree with Red and Moon, the moral of the episode was weak/bad. I remember watching the show "Recess" on the Disney channel and they had an episode that was kinda similar. Their moral was "not everyone will like you. You just have to accept it and move on." I was more for that message then the one Pinkie gave in this episode.
