I'm from Australia, town called Wagga Wagga. It's coming up to summer here, gonna be another hot christmas.

I'm from the Chicago Area.

They're trying to make the county that Chicago's in, into it's own state, separate from Illinois.

I think it's ridiculous... but...
I'm from the state of Chicago, off about 40 miles from the state capital and on the border of Chicago and Illinois.

That sounds ridiculous.
first of all, I no where NEAR the actual state capital and secondly, I'd rather live in Illinois than Chicago, you know, if they ever separated.

Alternatively, make the stars smaller? Always thought it was funny how many stars you guys have, when schoolkids draw the flag it must be like "OH GOD WHY WOULD WE HAVE SO MANY STATES".

I don't know how school children can even attempt to memorise all those states! I'm personally glad that all I had to remember was ten provinces and three territories.

Making the stars smaller would require remaking all the flags. Instead, adding a star allows a person to go in and add it themselves.

I'm also from the Chicagoland area. But I've never heard anything about Chicago wanting to separate. I guess I don't really pay attention to what's going on in the world to have missed that one.

It's not Chicago wanting to separate, it's Illinois wanting to separate from Chicago.
