Nah, I blame the bronies for futa and herm ponies

(I wonder if Killing Joke would create that kind of pony)

But, they also brought us things like My Little Dashie, Cupcakes and Fallout Equestria, so...

Gotta take the good with the bad in any fandom

I wouldn't necessarily say that futa is bad...

Time to Season 4 the crap out of it and make the bearers have to give the Elements back to the heart of Equestria to truly and completely purge the land of everything that messed it up in the first place

turn it back into the happy place of harmony, sunshine and rainbows, all the evil in the minds of every creature in Equestria gets purged, ala Nightmare Moon's...demise

Part of me imagines Spike would then use the Crusader Maneframe to monitor the state of Equestria

Did it state the purge was instant? Or that it was a gradual process?

Can't remind if it was stated in either FOE or PH but depending on the canon conversion, the G.E.C.K. does has a certain range.

The Kit has the appearance of a small, silver briefcase emblazoned with the letters "G.E.C.K."; according to Vault-Tec advertisements, it contains all the seeds, fertilizer, and other equipment (including a cold fusion power generator and a basic replicator) necessary to start a new settlement in a post-nuclear world after emerging from a Vault shelter.

The Garden of Eden Creation Kit is a device capable of radically altering the Wasteland and transforming dead, irradiated soil into viable land suitable for farming; it is implied, though not confirmed, that this is the usual mode of operation for a GECK in Fallout 2. However, there is significant disagreement as to what a GECK actually does; the only time we see one properly in action (rather than merely the results) is in Fallout 3.

I would think that use of the GECK and its range would vary based on how the owner used it. For example in FO3 it is used to repair the water purifier, bringing clean water to the whole DC wasteland. In other cases, it obviously creates an area if suitable farmland, likely based on how the user rations the contents.. For Equestria? Based on how the elements generally instantly fix things (Nightmare Moon, Discord, Tirek) I'd assume Gardens is designed to work instantly.

I definitely need to watch Madoka after I finish the episodes I'm still missing from Season 4 of FIM, heh.  Though that does certainly sound appropriate for Blackjack, I'm certain she would get a lot of use out of Homura's power if she had it.

Re: [GRIMDARK] Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons Discussion

Post by swicked on Wed May 28, 2014 6:32 pm

I don't care much for the topic at hand, so I'm going to start my own.
Note: this is probably the second time in my life that I've actually engaged in shipping, by which I mean I feel fairly strongly about this as I am really not much of a romantic at heart.
So, it's established that Blackjack has feelings for both P-21 and Glory, and they have the same for her. She also has P-21's child (people can debate this, but I'm not going to), though not in her at this time, and I'm pretty sure P-21 would want to be the child's father in raising him/her. His relationship with Scotch and the knowledge that he's lost however many foals of his own in the past, I think, will cement his desire to take that role in the child's life. He's "donated" enough sperm with the knowledge that some of them would be raised for slaughter and the rest would be doing the slaughtering and he could do nothing about it. Heck, he even lives with the knowledge that he might have even killed one of his own in the past just to keep himself alive a little longer. In his position it would be a cold day in hell before I gave up another child without a fight.

In any case, the question here is whether P-21 or Glory is going to get to be with Blackjack while the other's love goes unrequited, if they are going to be in an open relationship with Blackjack where each gets her part of the time, or if this is going to evolve into a polyamorous relationship.

P-21 has every reason to have feelings for Glory. Despite how often they've butted heads in regards to morality, they have a common interest in Blackjack for very similar reasons. They have similar personalities, appreciations for knowledge and science, desire to learn and to teach and respect for each other born. Without Blackjack, I think they could easily be each other's best friend.
This theory is strained a bit by the fact that Glory has been off in a lab over the months Blackjack was gone while P-21 continued to work in Chapel, but I see that more as simply P-21 trusting Glory and not wanting to be unfair to his daughter by going off with Glory too.
In any case, P-21 has additional reasons to feel affection for Glory since she saved both his life and that of his daughter, even after he screwed things up during the worst parts of his withdrawal. She saved Blackjack, too, when all P-21 could think about was revenge. Glory is undoubtedly admirable, particularly from his point of view. I don't think it was unnatural at all for all three of them to of ended up in a bed together and I can't help but wonder if either or both of them weren't quite as drunk as Blackjack was and could honestly admit they wanted to be together with each other and with Blackjack.
I know they haven't exchanged much affection "on screen", but Blackjack isn't very observant and, again, I don't think they would have gotten into bed with each other without being attracted to each other as well.

I would like that. Maybe some readers might feel cheated a bit about the choice of P-21 or Glory in this romantic subplot being sidestepped by such a third option, but I like the idea. Maybe partially just because I like the idea of polyamorous relationships in general, though.

My spouse watches these reality TV shows of these mormon families that have one guy and multiple wives (one of them's called "Sister Wives" and I think the other is "My Five Wives") and jealousy is a constant issue for them. For affection, for attention and for funds because they naturally don't want to live in the same house as each other, but to exist as separate units their husband cycles between. Each wife is only friends with each other wife, at best, after all. They have to suppress the thought that their husband isn't exclusive (they've voiced as much on the show), placating themselves with the thought that to "have part of a really great guy is better than all of a terrible one" (yeah, they said that, too).
It's obviously not a healthy mindset. Ignoring reality never is in a relationship. I feel like, if there's going to be a relationship with more than two partners, the relationship should be equally strong between all of them. Not like a hippy communal "free love" thing in which everyone loves everyone else with no real attachment, but an actual, personal devotion between each person with each other person, willing to spend all of their lives together. Everything two people can be to each other, but between three or four.
Then it's not multiple people sharing parts of one person, but each person in the relationship deeply loving and cherishing two or more people and having all of that love returned to them in equal measure.

So yeah, I hope the aftermath of this story has Blackjack, Glory and P-21 just together. One atomic unit, living under the same roof, sleeping in the same bed, all happy just to be together. Raising Scotch and the child that's coming. I think that would be good.

I disagree greatly. As you said this third option does feel like it's cheated. I feel like if everyone survives to the end there's going to be a choice for BJ and I prefer her to make it.

There's no doubt that there's times Glory's turned to him, P-21's an alright listener (If I remember correctly he listened to Scotch's mom's crap all the time.) but I would never say it was out of mutual affection for one another at least not the romantic variety. Glory has very few people she can talk to, she's cut off entirely from her family a very big family by enclave standards. Rampage and Glory don't really get along and Scotch is a child, and the group sometimes chooses to keep secrets from BJ. Or there's just things Glory can't tell her.

I think the fact that Glory stayed in the collegiate alone is evidence of the fact that she doesn't need P-21 to be that listener anymore. Glory's got her sisters, she's got her father, She's not alone in the wastes anymore.

And as for sleeping the same bed? If you're referring to sex I'd like to point you to word of god once more. "If Glory was still RD in a year she would not be sleeping with stallions." Somber who I've talked to privately and will hopefully not be angry with me for saying this (I really hate sharing anything that anyone told me privately.)told me that the reason that she had sex with P-21 and Splendid was that she was a lesbian mare in a straight mare's body who was under the influence of hormones and that she would not be having sex with stallions anymore.

As for raising the child? I'm perfectly fine with them not excluding him from helping to raise it. But I don't think they all need to be in a relationship together for that to happen, I don't even think BJ needs to be in a relationship with him for that to happen. All the need for that is to live in the same town.

And I honestly don't think that BJ being in a relationship with both of them is good for Glory. Sex seems to hurt her enough, but having someone else that she may feel the need to compete with for affection? I'd feel so bad for her.

I wouldn't want that, either. A large part of my post was the fact that I think relationships like that are unhealthy, after all.

Last wrote:And as for sleeping the same bed? If you're referring to sex I'd like to point you to word of god once more. "If Glory was still RD in a year she would not be sleeping with stallions."
Ah. I figured she was just a little bi.
I mean, there's a big difference between being attracted to a sex in general, and being attracted to one specific person you resonate with really well.

edit: ...then again, I don't have much beyond personal experience to base that on. I'm attracted, primarily, to my opposite sex... but I've come across a handful members of my same sex that I felt attracted to in my life. People who appealed to me mentally, too. Not that I ever followed up with any of that.
Additionally, Glory is nothing like me.

The rest of your post is just different, no-more-compelling (to me, at least) ways to interpret their relationship based on the same facts, so with an absence of new evidence, I can't really say anything but "I disagree."

I know, I saw what you had posted. I assure you I read every word. I just mentioned that to say that I don't think any variation of a romantic relationship involving the three of them would work.

You and I can agree on the part where if BJ was romantically involved with both of them it would fail. Though you clearly feel strongly about them all getting together so we won't agree there.

No Glory is a lesbian. Whether you can find love in a gender you're not attracted to I don't know about that. Personally, I think it would be short lived. You might be able to find cases where that's not true, but that would entirely rely on people telling the truth and I personally wouldn't trust it.

I find myself largely agreeing with Swicked. And I think it's already the case that in particular Blackjack, P-21, and Scotch already share many of the bonds of family. P-21's ambivalence with respect to Blackjack has long been an issue, but it's pretty clear to me that although there may always be some pain left, his admiration, devotion, and yes, love for her have become the stronger. For Blackjack, I think it would be a very natural development. The potential sticking point is Glory. Now, to first address the sexual point, that's really not a core issue here. They don't all need to have the same relationship characteristics with each other, and whether or not Glory ever has sex with P-21 again wouldn't be a determining factor in whether a romantic or familial relationship would work between the three. As to whether one can romantically love someone you aren't attracted to, well, the existence of romantic asexuals pretty definitively shows one can, so there's nothing in particular to indicate that would be, in principle, a problem. What could be, however, is Glory's ability to accept someone else as another core part of Blackjack's life. And while I can't say definitively how she's going on that front, "Best Night Ever" really gave some reason to think she could give it a chance, for Blackjack. While it* was built much more on the issue of Blackjack having sex with other people, which seemed to be at least provisionally accepted, I think that her whole point generalizes beyond that.

Sorry, I was referring to this:
Spoiled for space:
The Best Night Ever wrote:That lead me up stairs and to a balcony overlooking the reservoir. And I slowed as I heard Glory’s voice. “I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I don’t know... is it this body? Is it him? Is it me? What’s wrong with me?”

Then I heard P-21 answer her. “You’ve gone through a lot of changes, Glory. So have we all. Yours are a lot more fundamental than most of ours.”

“I can’t believe he wants to marry me. I can’t believe I actually considered it!” I heard the anguish in her voice and leaned over to see her kneeling here, P-21 holding her lightly. “It’s got to be this body. It has to be! There’s no other reason why I should be attracted to him!”

“Do you like him?” P-21 asked.

“I... it’s... you...” Glory stammered. “He’s... nice! I thought he would be stuck up and insincere, but he’s not. He’s a genuinely nice stallion. And he wants me to marry him! He says he loves me. And with Blackjack... she says the same thing and I know she means it but...” She sniffed and beat at her head. “I feel like I’m going crazy!”

“You’re not going crazy, Glory. You’re in a relationship with Blackjack. It’s not unpleasant, but it is a little surreal. It would be easy to simply dismiss her, but you can’t. It’d be better to leave her, but you won’t. And even though it hurts to be around her, you can’t help but want to be there just in case she needs you.” He patted her shoulder gently. “I’m sure your condition isn’t helping.”

“Ugh... don’t start that. Just because I’m a mare doesn’t mean this is due to hormones,” she snapped. “Mares aren’t weak just because we get this way.”

“Glory, I’m an expert on mares when you get that way,” he said, closing his eyes. “Yes, I didn’t have any choice in the service I provided, but I know mares, and always it was more than just sex. Duct Tape liked to pretend we were married. Marmalade wanted a friend. Sometimes we didn’t even have sex. Palette wanted body paint. Misty Hooves wanted everyone to hear us so people would stop thinking she was a filly. Gin Rummy would tell me her worries about her daughter. Rivets would rut, then complain about the Overmare to me, because I’d listen and not report her. Mares need things in this time. So what is it you need?”

“I... I... I... don’t know,” she stammered. “On one hoof... I’m... horny...” she said the word with mortification. “And on another I feel ashamed... and I want to be bold and free like Blackjack and on another I... need to apologize.” She hung her head and shook it. “That’s what I need.”

“Then do it. Blackjack will understand. You could have an orgy with half the Society and Blackjack would want to know the juicy details. Don’t worry about that.” He then gave a little smile. “Just make sure you can accept the consequences if you do. Pregnancy is the last thing you want right now.”

“Splendid has a contraception spell... said it was a requirement in his position...” she shook her head and groaned. “Why does everything have to be so complicated?”

I coughed and knocked on the doorjam before stepping outside. Glory immediately looked away. P-21 sighed and smiled at me before walking past. I trotted up to her side and took a seat. “Well. Interesting night. Things are definitely... nightish.”

“I’m sorry,” Glory said as she looked away.

“For what?” I asked.

“Oh, Blackjack, you know what!” she snapped as she turned to face me. But I cocked my head and knit my brows. “Sex!” she erupted. “With Splendid. Ugh... I can’t believe I did it at all.”

“Do you want to do it again?” I asked politely. She grit her teeth, eyes popping a little, before she turned away. I sighed and looked away. “Glory... we can’t keep doing this. Not if it’s tearing you up this much.”

She looked a little terrified as I gazed out into the rain. “Blackjack...” she whispered.

“Sex and monogamy are big deals to you. They’re not to me. In fact, the entire monogamy idea is stupid to me,” I said bluntly as I looked at her. “I don’t care with who, how often, or what toys you use to get off with, so long as at the end of the day you’re in my embrace. As long as we’re first, I don’t care about seconds, thirds, fourths, and fifths. Do you understand? I don’t care.” I stressed those three words as hard as I could before I stroked her mane. “But you do.”

“Blackjack,” she repeated softly.

“I care that you’re upset. I care that you’re feeling guilt. I care that you’re going through these changes and I can’t help you. I care about what you’re feeling. But I don’t care that you played ‘hide the carrot’ with Splendid.” I closed my eyes. “Maybe it’s time we stopped this relationship. All I ever do is hurt you.”

She didn’t answer, and that was the worst response of all. Okay, she could have laughed and called me a loser, but still. I glanced at her and saw her looking at me funny. Then she stared out at the night as well. “Was Stygius nice?”

“Nice?” I blinked. That’s one way of putting it. “He was a bit of a goofball, but nice... sure. Maybe it was a part of the whole ‘prince’ deal.” I rubbed my chin. “I needed someone nice and safe, and, above all, somepony I didn’t have a relationship with. I used him,” I admitted with a shrug as I looked out into the night. “Not the noblest thing I’ve ever done, but he was pleasant enough about it and even helped me when he could have just taken off. I guess that’s what made it okay for me.” I looked for the expression of outrage on her face but was surprised to see her smiling.

She walked to the rail and folded her hooves on it as she looked out into the night. “I was just trying to do it without dying of embarrassment. Definitely different... feeling him move. Not at all like with you. And a lot stickier than I expected,” she said as she made a face, then giggled. “You know what’s funny? The whole time, I was comparing him to you. Blackjack does this and Blackjack does that. More than anything... I wanted you to be there with me. I wanted to compare and contrast and enjoy things. And of course I immediately thought I was being perverted.”

“Why? What’s wrong with a threeway?” I nickered and nuzzled her ear.

She laughed and shook her head. “The fact that you can ask that so easily is what astonishes me.”

“Glory, if that’s what’s bothering you, I don’t mind including others.” She groaned and hid her face in her wings. “We could go get Splendid and really see how he treats a pair of ladies.” She groaned even louder, and I grinned. “Or Grace? I think Grace would really appreciate it.” Glory let out an even louder groan and waved her hoof, trying to hit me.

Finally she sighed and looked at me, then leaned over and pressed her head to my shoulder. “Maybe you’re right. Maybe I should start imagining less and experimenting more, Blackjack. Trying things with other mares. See what kind of experiences I can have.” Then she looked at me. “You’ll always be there for me if I need you, right?”

“Always,” I replied.

She stretched up and kissed me on the cheek. “Thank you, Blackjack,” she said quietly as she walked away.

Attraction, by all accounts, does not grow over time (it can fluctuate, but it's highly unrealistic to expect it to come up from nothing whatsoever). Love does, though, if only through familiarity. Shared experiences, good or terrible, can and do bring people closer. Even if you are right, Blackjack is going to want to stay close to both of them, and I think Glory and P-21 would eventually come to regard each other on a familial level. A different kind of love, but a kind of love.

And in my first post I only partially meant the same bed to mean sex. It was more a reference to those mormon shows I had previously mentioned in which the only thing connecting the wives is the husband, each living in a different house. The same bed was meant to mean it would be one relationship together.

The silliest thing about the mormon groups from the reality TV shows are, if the husbands were to die, the wives would inevitably go their separate ways, remarry and might never see each other again. In both those shows the husband is literally the only thing that keeps them all together.

From my experience, multi-partner relationships can work even if two of the people aren't, y'know, sleeping together or what-have-you. Trust and a bond must be present, though.

On a separate note, I had a small collection of skit/outtake ideas in a doc, so when people started saying Happy Birthday to Somber, I started writing stuff.
It started out as a series of scenes highlighting the lives and hobbies of BJ and the gang following PH ending, assuming everyone survives relatively unharmed (though not accounting for BJ's child, now that I think of it).
Now it's a 2.5 page (in Word) conversation between them all at a bar (my usual café of broken dreams stand-in that acts as a crossroads between all fics at all times).

It's not all that funny (I've been having a bit of an issue with that, nowadays, it seems), but I thought it was kinda amusing and that Somber (and maybe others) might like it as a sort of gift given he at least occasionally likes my stuff.

Soooooo......:
Blackjack: *glares at her bottle of wild pegasus, still half-full, before pouring herself a tiny shot glass and downing it with a slight grimace*
Psychoshy: Is that what people call "drinking in moderation"? Who are you and what have you done with Blackjack?
Blackjack: Ugh... just trying to build up my immunity. Cirrhosify my liver et al. I still love the stuff, but it stings like never before, and Glory actually brought a stomach pump with her to the bar to keep me from any more alcohol-related near-deaths.
Glory: Sue me for caring.
Blackjack: Would that we had a stable legal system in place instead of-
Rampage: Blackjack! Blackjack! Try this drink I made! *shoves a martini glass with a blue liquid in front of her*
Blackjack: Oh? Uh, okay. *downs the glass*
Glory: Blackjack!
Blackjack: What? It was clearly a fruity drink. Eck, and a bit too sweet for my taste. The alcohol in it can't be that... wow, that's starting to burn.
Rampage: I call it a "bloody martini".
Blackjack: I didn't taste any tomato juice. Or, uh, blood, if that's what you were going for.
Rampage: Pfft, come on, Blackjack, do you really think I would feed you blood? No, it's just one part martini with maybe a teeny little two parts antifreeze.
Blackjack: *Glory begins hooking up the stomach pump to a fusion cell* You're kidding me.
Rampage: Nah, it's part of my new business, "Rampage's Drinks for the Hopelessly Sober". People plagued with sobriety due to healing talismans is an uncommon but very real problem in our society.
Blackjack: ...you aren't kidding me. *sighs as Glory sets the hose attachments and pulls Blackjack down to the floor*
Rampage: Can you feel the sting? It's the gin and glycol burning through your stomach lining. If you can keep it down it's a really nice drunk up until your kidneys dissolve. Reminds me of a drink I had back in Friendship City, actually, but better.
Blackjack: *gags and spits out the hose* Wait, Glory, just a second. Why, Rampage? You do realize I'm organic now, right?
Rampage: Well of course I do, silly! What does that have to do with your sense of taste, though?
*Blackjack's groan fades into more gagging as the tube is shoved all the way down her throat*
Rampage: ...though I have to admit, it's disappointing that the sum total of ponies I know of that suffer from hopeless sobriety is back to one. Well, two if you count Deus, but I'm not allowed near his intakes since that incident with the potato.
Psychoshy: Hah, yeah, starting a business is hard. To help with the batpony kingdom, I started up a matchmaking service I've been calling "B-Harpony".
Rampage: Uh huh. So what is it this time, corpses, ghouls or family members?
Psychoshy: Ugh, it's people like you that keep sabotaging my efforts. This is about breeding, after all. Breeding. The only little wriggly things popping out of the dead are maggots.
Rampage: Gross.
Psychoshy: So it hardly matters how great a lay they are- oh, don't give me that look, they are! I'm sick of people writing them off! You can reach SO MANY more positions when everything's detachable. I got this fillydelphia ex-slave to help me put together a book of it. "Karma-Sutra of the Damned". He's over there at the bar. Hey, Seven! Say hi!
Murky: *on a barstool drawing with a very pleased-looking Glimmerlight watching* Uh, *blushes* hi?
Psychoshy: That's my art ex-slave! I mean, you should see some of his early work, the stuff's so dark it makes my past fantasies look like Glory's. Just don't tell him you looked at them, though. He's weirdly sensitive of his experiences in BDSM.
Rampage: And you wonder why people still call you "Psychoshy".
Psychoshy: Hey, it's "Whisper", buddy.
Rampage: No matter how many times you say it, it's not going to stick.
Glory: Yeah, the lot of them are pretty hopeless when it comes to name changes. Morning Glory, Fallen Glory, Rainbow Dash... though I was pretty thankful that last one never stuck.
P-21: *comes over to sit* "Really? I thought "Doctor" was becoming pretty common for you.
Glory: Oh. *blush* I don't have a medical license, though. Just experience. This isn't even a proper stomach pump. Just a dialed-down shop vac. *Blackjack begins thrashing* Oh! Looks like she's empty *turns off vac and yanks out the tube, Blackjack turning over and dry heaving... or cursing... either way, nothing came out*
Rampage: You don't say.
Glory: I mean, there isn't much medical equipment to go around... at least, none that aren't in such a state of damage or disrepair that they don't maim anyone who uses them. Thus, there actually is an market for makeshift meds.
Psychoshy: Hmmm. It's too bad there isn't still demand for orange-favored piss. Oh, excuse me, "recycled Rad-Away". *grins at Blackjack*
Blackjack: *just getting back in her chair, tears in her eyes, tries to speak, realizes she can't, trots over to Stygius and drags him over by his neck-attached chalkboard* *scribble scribble* 'F U' *drops the board, and Stygius, to the ground*
Psychoshy: Hey! I'm the only one that gets to leave Stygius gasping for breath!
P-21: *sigh* Stygius, seriously? I mean, seriously? *goes to help Stygius up*
Psychoshy: Hey, hands off! I still haven't forgiven you for hitting on him! Or trying to kill me, for that matter.
Stygius: *gets up, hacking* *scribble* 'at lest shes hot' *shrugs before getting his chalkboard smacked squarely upside his face by the love of his life*
P-21: Uh huh. Well, "Whisper", you've still got an open invitation to help out with any of my classes over in Chapel. I'm certain your presence as one of our volunteer aggressors would really help the students get over any trepidation they might have toward protecting themselves with lethal force.
Psychoshy: Har har. I don't care what you say, Blue, your "Academy of Practical Sciences" still leaves them completely unprepared for a close-quarters fight.
P-21: ...they're foals. If they can't handle a raider from a distance, I don't see hoof-to-hoof being much help.
Psychoshy: Yeah, you WOULD say that.
P-21: Yeah, because it's true!
Blackjack: *tries to speak, coughs a few times, then picks Stygius up and hurls him into Psychoshy, who checks her watch, shrugs and gets busy*
Rampage: Huh, bat ponies are certainly good problem solvers. Physically, at least.
Blackjack: *coughs and whispers* Yeah, maybe Glory could research their potential medicinal use.
Glory: Huh, given their unique physiology and magic, maybe there WOULD be some benefit to-
Blackjack: *shoves one hoof into Glory's mouth and the other into her own face as she telekinetically pours herself another drink*
Glory: *spits out hoof* Right, not drinking conversation. Uh, Blackjack, you really shouldn't be drinking on an empty stomach...
Blackjack: *glares and throws the drink, shotglass and all, into her mouth... then spits it out again* *cough* Dang it, how long until I stop doing that?!
P-21: Given your eating habits already included the nearly-inedible before being mechanized, I'm not sure.
Blackjack: Just one more thing to bring up at the meeting, I guess.
Rampage: Meeting?
Blackjack: Oh, right, well... you all have your hobbies, businesses and causes, I have mine. I mean, first I tried to put together a moral rehab clinic, but Happyhooves was blown nearly to dust and I wasn't doing so well relying on my own personal expertise.
Glory: She kept letting people go if they said they were sorry.
Blackjack: Right. So, my new effort is to just help the 'heroes'. Watcher distributes the meeting notices.
"Mavericks Anonymous" has actually been doing pretty well, even if each meeting tends to devolve into a contest to see who can get LittlePip to disconnect from her remote terminal first out of sheer horror. Therapeutic, in any case.
Rampage: Why am I only hearing about this now?
Blackjack: *facehoof* Damn me... sigh, so you and Whisper wouldn't show up and one-up everyone. There's a crate of wild pegasus for the first to make it to 5 Littlepip freak-outs.
Psychoshy: *kicks Stygius off* Well, we're in it, now. Spill.
Blackjack: Watcher organizes it around everyone's schedule. Says it's the least he can do nowadays.
Psychoshy: Mmmk. Pretty sure I can take on a dragon. Rampage, you game?
Rampage: More than. See ya. *both leave*
Blackjack: Well, that went better than I thought. In any case, I think I've had enough to drink, pre- and post-pump.
Glory: Kay, then let's go home for the best part of the date.
P-21: Uh, so... you sure you want me to keep going with you two?
Blackjack: Honestly, P-21, that last time was easily the best threesome I've never remembered.
Glory: Aheh, yeah, and the best one I... kinda do.
P-21: Okay, well, I guess that's a night. You know, I never thought I'd enjoy sharing a bed with a mare, let alone two.
Blackjack: I suspect those mares being your best friends helps.
P-21: That it does.
*end scene*

((sorry Last, it's the best ending I could come up with))

I'm with Last on this one. While Blackjack is undoubtedly polyamorous, I'm going to need more evidence to convince me that Glory and P-21 are, and a lot more to prove that two have more than platonic feelings for one another.

Icy raises the point that they already seem like a family, and that's because they are, Rampage and Lacs (though sadly not anymore) included. And that's where I see the story going, not just BJ and her chosen partner(s), but the whole family living together in Star House.

I really don't think Rampage considers anyone more than just a friend, at most. Her opinion of others has often seemed, to me, highly volatile. Without Blackjack around at all, I think she would leave, maybe to rejoin the reapers, maybe just to try and find something to kill her.
Either way, she wouldn't stay near Chapel, nor could she ever stand to settle anywhere.

Lacunae never really bonded with anyone at all, I think. She stayed in the background, isolating herself as much as she could from the group. They might have considered her a friend, but I never really thought she was one. She, too, would have just left if Blackjack were to leave or die... though she might have looked back once or twice.

Lacs, maybe. I'll dispute that Rampage has weak ties to the group. If anything, she's connected more with P-21 and Scotch than Glory has. Just look at Rampage's talk with P-21 way back in Chapter 21. She was able to talk with him in a way that nopony else, especially not Blackjack, was able to. When Rampage left the group, Scotch was heartbroken, and Rampage has repeatedly shown that she has one of the closest connections to Scotch out of anyone in the group. The whole reason Ramps left in the first place was because of the decision that BJ made to rewrite her memory and her own worries that if she stayed, she would end up killing the filly she cared about.

The problem with Rampage is that while she has all these relationships and connections, she doesn't fully know it. Her emotions are constantly in turmoil, and much like Psalm, she feels that she doesn't deserve, and isn't destined to, be happy. She's not a wanderer by choice but because she feels that if she stays, she's going to destroy everything like she did so many times in the past. She wants to settle down and be happy but she's too scared to make the leap of faith. She wants to die because death is the only constant in her life and it's the only way she can think of to ensure that the ponies she cares about are protected from her.

Oh, no, Scotch likes Rampage. Scotch feels strongly about everyone. I think she absolutely sees the group as one big family, and I think they all would like her, just not consider themselves her family in return.
She lost her entire stable. Her mom, her friends, everyone. She was raised in a community and never grew old enough to become bitter or jaded by it. I think it was only natural for her to grow these sorts of strong attachments.

Rampage likes Scotch a lot, but I don't think she considers her family. It might contain a lot of things from herself and her souls... maternal feelings, the filly in her feeling friendship, the grandfather in her admiring Scotch's accomplishments, etc.
Rampage is absolutely a cocktail of emotion, I just don't think she has a special attachment to Scotch that she couldn't develop with any filly. She might even be projecting her lost child onto Scotch, which would obviously lead to her being even more afraid of hurting her.
