S4 Episode 24 - Equestria Games

Yay! Another Spike episode. And I really liked it. Not too much Pinkie acting crazy this episode, which I like and can excuse because of the Game hype. Glad to see that they can't always get #1. Amused that apparently the princesses are also disabled. Antimagic is apparently canon. Though kinda silly if you think about it. No magic makes that a prime target for a villain to go and nab them. I guess security is beefed up though, with more modern looking pony guards as opposed to the ceremonial ones. Really glad to see that the story didn't snowball into coddling Spike by avoiding telling him the truth. Though they made it really apparent that it wasn't going to work when Spike somehow thought he had pyrokinesis. Definitely props to the writers for making that anthem the most awkward thing ever. Saw Derpy; am happy. Laughed when she went mute through the entrance. Also liked that Griffons placed.

Heard some grumbling about the POV shift to Spike-centered as opposed to Game-centered. Not sure how they would make it an episode like that without being blatantly called out for pandering, as the only course we would see would be Dash and Fluttershy's event. And besides, if you really wanted to watch sports, just go watch the Olympics.

Sitting on a throne might have been an option for him, but having him out and about I would think is more to his character.

Also nice to see the delegates from other areas, like the Saddle Arabians, and even Blueblood.
That brings me to a question. Is Blueblood truly a jerk, or was the Gala just a one time thing? I kinda get bored of fics that depict him as entirely jerk, sometimes borderline evil, but he seems to be just fine in the other episodes he appears in.

That would be hilarious if they had a fifth throne setup, but no explanation whatsoever.
