The FoE Fanfic Re-Read Proposal

Now I have been meaning to go back and re-read Fallout Equestria and Fallout-Project Horizons for months now.  And I've been kicking around the idea to do it in a more organized fashioned for weeks now.  And it came to me in a bit of math that at it's current rate with chapter 58 dropping yesterday we are right around track for one chapter a month meaning December 2014 should feature the release of Chapter 70 give or take a month or two. 

And I've been meaning to put together a solid re-read forever for the Minecraft server to get details, names and dates. 
But what if I did not stop with just FoE and Project Horizon, what if it was not just me?  If I had more than just myself reading along with the fanfics one chapter at a time...  And FoE and FoE:PH are not the only two names in the game... what about some of the finished older ones like Pink Eyes or other ones of lesser length but still in progress like Murky Number Seven, Heroes, Broken Bonds and the like?

So I'm going to ask who's interested to see a grand re-read put together.  That starting September 1st (A Sunday) and running one a week (Or once every two weeks, or once a month for the shorter stories) we get together a crew to read all the various stories, get a rough schedule together and see who's willing to read along with us all?

The proposal

What you do
Sign up to say once a week I will read a chapter of fanfic X.  I will then that Friday/Saturday/Sunday whatever day is decided will post in a thread about Chapter Z of Fanfic X and write something up.  It could be thoughts and feelings, live reactions (if your a first time reader) it could be feedback or headcannon... promote or demote the work in question or maybe time to get that slash fiction out of your head and onto the forums... whatever you want to talk about but it would be limited to whatever went on in that chapter this week.

What I'd do
Coordinate, get the threads up if no one wants to do that themselves for their chosen fanfics.  Read one chapter of FoE and FoE:PH to provide a base to work from for discussion. Also in the case of the shorter works set a time, I know for example Murky's length of chapters means one every two weeks is about the fastest I'd suggest going.

So what I'm proposing is kind of like an informal discussion group once a week taking it nice and slow talking about each and every chapter of the work from the start right on to the finish weeks or months later.

I'm really surprised this has no replies yet.

It's too late for me to make a real reply here, but basically I'm up for it if others participate. We could even try something silly like voice-chat reading parts to each other, but maybe that's just me being goofy from the sleepyness.

I've just been slowly rereading FoE ever since KKat started posting it on Fimfic one chapter at a time.

Eh, I guess I'm up to try it. I mean, this will probably give me a good enough reason to re-read Fallout Equestria.

Actually I only read the last half of it, I got through chapters 1-20 thanks to an audio book on youtube hehe.

I'm not opposed to some people going the audibook route.  The idea is to get a bunch of people together go a chapter at a time and talk about them in order.  Take our time and enjoy the work.  Even the FoE read will take pretty much the entire year.

I don't know if there's any other audio books but I listened to Scorch's reading. And it would probably do me better to actually read the whole thing from the beginning. Since I was just listening that means I was trying to do other stuff at the time and missed a LOT of details.

Like just what lead them to fight a dragon... and just where did Steelhooves come from. I know they was fighting alicorns but I missed if the alicorns attacked Pip first or if Pip came across Steelhooves already in combat.

So like I said, probably be better if I read.

Ithink Pip found him whilst he was already in combat. But my gut says Pip was under attack by them and he made them explode. Gut can't give an aswer for why his armor was disabled if he got the jump on them though.

Might join in on the FO:E reread but not the PH one.

 That's fine I'd like to get a crew together for each re-read.

 Pretty sure Pip was attacked by a pair of Alicorns and then saved by Steelhooves.

But then again I might be wrong, because I have a horrible memory.

So at the moment we have Last on the FOE:E read and maybe Moody maybe...  Not much more interest at the moment.  Hey 21 days to generate interest.

I just remembered that I won't be available Sunday September 1. Gonna be at Dragon con that weekend and if I stick to my plan from last year than that's my "get autographs" day.

I'll still do it this though, just that I'll have to read the Intro/Prologue/Chapter 1 on my own and type up what I thought of it.

If I can get myself focused for it, I'll join in. Focus is a bitch with me though, so I won't promise because I'd hate to break it.
